Rejection's Chains

Meeting Diane was almost like a dream... I could see why people loved her so much everywhere she went was just filled with laughter it was almost as if she had cast a magical spell removing everyone's worries and filling them with happiness. In short she was literally the opposite of me. She was beautiful and she was someone that could actually be loved.

The evening me and her met I couldn't help but smile and laugh at the small jokes she would make when things got awkward. She just had something about her, I don't know what it is but it enchanted me along with everyone else in the pack.

"So where's your mate Jessica" she asked smiling obviously not knowing the circumstances I was in,

Everyone's little conversations stopped as they all looked at the back corner that me, Diane and Leon were in.

Leon tried to stop her from asking but I cut him off,

"No Leon.. really it's fine. Well my mate actually died... He...the first day we had met he rejected me and soon after a few years we met again and now me having a position and a name he seemed to have wanted me and so I simply did what I wasn't able to do that day of our meeting. I rejected him. But that rejection wasn't enough for him since he then went on to kidnapping me and..." my breathing wavered as I got onto the last sentence. My memories of that day slowly resurfaced.

Diane looked at me in shock,

"Oh my god I'm so sorry I even asked, it was completely insensitive of me"

"No...no it's fine you didn't know it's completely fine. Leon saved me" I said with a slight smile as I looked up at Leon.

Diane looked at Leon and gently squeezed Leon's hand which was placed firmly on her shoulder.

"I'm so sorry for what happened and I'm so glad that Leon was there to save you"

"Yeh.." I looked at the two looking at each other with love overflowing from their eyes. The slight smile I somehow forced to put on faded away... I wanted to be happy too. And just in time Zane started crying almost helping me get out of the situation.

"I think Zane needs his nappy changed I'll get going... and I'm so glad you made it back home Diane" I looked at them one last time with a smile and left.

As soon as I got out of the room Zane stopped crying. His poor face has gone all read from the constant screaming.

I made my way into my room to obviously find the lovely demon couple sitting there as if they own the place. I walked in internally rolling my eyes.

"Hey you two, do you not have a room or something?" I laughed,

"I mean we do but it's so much better in here and besides you know what day it is today don't you?" Andreo looked at me while holding a sleepy Josh.

"Yeh I do... it's been a year since I moved into this pack and it's about time we go home"

"I can't wait to go back home and actually have my best friend there" Laura giggled.

I smiled I knew it was time I just couldn't help but feel attached besides who knows when I would see them again. Okay maybe I'm being over dramatic I mean they would still come to pack events I guess, and this would be good for me... being away from Leon my feelings could die down a little.

"Have you packed everything yet?" Andreo looked around my room trying to spot my luggage's.

"Yes I have I'm not that ill prepared they are all under the bed. I just need to put all of Zane's extra nappies and clothes in a bag"

Andreo knelt down grabbing the bags from underneath my bed.

"Damn there's a lot of stuff" he said looking at me with a baffled look,
