"The Moon goddess just can't let me be happy, and she made that very clear from the very start from birth till now!"
*THIS BOOK IS THE SECOND SERIES OF A MATES BOND BUT IT CAN BE READ BY ITSELF*
I sighed as I stared at the heart monitor, it's slow beeps where the only sound in the whole room. I looked around thinking this isn't how pregnant ladies usually are in the hospital room waiting for their little miracle, they normally are surrounded by people and even if not surrounded the baby's father is usually there,
holding their hand...
rubbing their aching back...
I shook my head in disbelief that I even thought of such things my life was always filled with memories of me by myself... with no one to keep me company, heck my own wolf left me alone most of the times so why would it matter to me now....
Why?....
The door rushed open and to my surprise, there was little Pheonix holding...
DIANE'S DIARY?!
How on earth did that child find it in my room... well if we can even call that anymore.
"Jess!!" She said quickly running to me in excitement,
"Yes, Pheonix" I smiled,
"Daddy is going to go save mummy tomorrow," she said barely keeping still,
I sighed knowing I couldn't go and save... Leon's mate... that still hurt to say.
"Yeah and I won't be able to go with them"
"Why?"
I laughed and pointed at my belly,
Her eyes suddenly widened,
"Oooooh right sorry I was too excited to notice," she said laughing while scratching her head,
"But you just made your way to the hospital knowing I'm there"
"Yeah I can be a bit dumb sometimes"
I was glad Pheonix was more open with me, she now seemed more like her age... cute and playful.
I laughed as a slight blush of embarrassment crept up her cheeks.
"Did you need something Phoenix? You came in here in quite a hurry" I asked her staring at Diane's diary,
"Oh! Right umm... I was wondering did mummy ever write about this huge bird looking animal?"
I looked at her and realised I had completely forgotten to give the note to Leon. I looked at Phoenix with my eyes wide open.
"I completely forgot!"
I quickly grabbed my bag and pulled at the small secret compartment that I had built-in. I pulled out the small note left inside it.
"Pheonix I need you to run to daddy and give him this! It's very important"
She eyed the small note that was now placed in her hands in confusion, her blue eyes looked up at me in looking for answers,
"What is this?"
"It's about the beast he needs to get this as soon as possible, it's one of the essential things needed to save your mum"
She quickly nodded at me and ran out the door with both Diane's diary and note in hand. I sighed and stared down at the IV on my hand.
I hope she makes it quick enough we need this to go well.... for Leon.
Leon's POV
I reloaded my gun with silver bullets preparing for what seemed like a heated fight. My body was constantly being pumped with adrenaline just the thought of seeing my baby once again made my stomach swirl and flutter with butterflies.
It's as if I could already hear her voice calling my name, I put the gun in my holster and went out the door I felt as if every step led me closer to her. It may sound cliche but it really did feel like that.
I walked into the training room to find everyone packed and ready I couldn't help the smile that had plastered itself onto my face.
"Right if we are all ready we should probably get going we can't keep Diane waiting"
Everyone nodded at me with smiles on their faces and started walking towards the cars that we would be taking.
Before I got into the car a sudden voice stopped me.
"Daddy!!"
I turned around seeing Pheonix running towards her blonde locks bouncing with every step, panic and confusion arose inside me,
"What's wrong Pheonix why are you here sweety," I asked looking at her in confusion
She looked at me taking deep breathes from the lack of oxygen,
"Jessica... She told me to give you this"
I stared at the red crimson note that she handed to me in confusion.
"What is this?" I asked in confusion,
"It's important! Really important to get mummy back, something about the creature"
"Aru...." I whispered under my breath with a smile.
I looked at pheonix one last time and gave her a hug goodbye and making sure she stays in the pack while I'm gone.
I climbed into the car that we were taking and started making our way to the woods where we would summon Aru. Diane's familiar always stayed engraved into my head, she had helped us so much with the council and getting the pack back to its original glory.
However for some reason after a while Aru disappeared.... I don't know what happened but I need to find out.
The car came to a halt In front of the big willow tree, it's branches creeped over us almost as if protecting us but from what? It had a huge "X" marked onto it. I jumped out the car with the note in my hand.
The sunlight streamed in through the slight gaps between the leaves that hung from the wrinkled branches.

I stared at the note in my hand and with one last breath I read out the words that was inscribed in it I smiled at Diane's handwriting. I felt wind softly gush towards me as I read every word and before I knew it the strange calling came towards me it's sound causing the ground to shake almost in fear of the beast that was to come, it reminded me of the battle with the council.
I stared at the white creature that started to make its way towards me and with that I couldn't do anything but smile,
Aru was back and finally I might just get back Diane.
