Moving in

I had a wave of relief wash over me as we stepped off the plan. I made it. "We just have to wait for my luggage . Then we can go." Ashton said content as ever. I smiled and nodded my head yawning. It was about eleven at night and Ashton and I stayed up talking half the flight to try and beat the jet lag.

"So, ya got anything planned for tomorrow?" He asked when he came back with his luggage. We walked over to bench to sit on to talk again. "Not really. Probably get a hotel."I said shrugging. "I had my friend Mike drop me at the airport since I didn't know what time I would be getting back. So we'll just need to hail a taxi." He said.

"You mean I have to spend more time with you?"I stated sarcastically.  "You definitely remind me of my girlfriend. You should meet her once you settle into your place." I was glad that he wanted me to meet his girlfriend meaning further friendship with him. "Yeah! That sounds really fun. I'll let you know what hotel I end up staying at so we can arrange that."I said remembering I had no where to stay. As well as disappointed that I didn't think further ahead to get myself somewhere to stay.

"Why don't you just stay at my place!"He said flailing his free arm about. "Oh, no I don't want to intrude or over step. You have a girlfriend and I don't want to cause problems.

Plus, you just met me a few h-" I began rambling but he cut me off. "You wouldn't be a burden at all Jasey Rae. If anything you're a blessing. If it weren't for you I would have been horribly bored on that plane ride here. It's settled that you're moving in with me. You wont need to worry about Cat, I know my girlfriend. She'll be perfectly fine with it. Besides, she lives with me."He said giggling a bit.

"Oh, well that makes me a feel a bit better I guess, but I don't want you to rearrange your life around for some  person you just met at the airport. Not that I don't like you Ashton, because I think you're a fantastic person. I just want you to be sure." I said.

"I wouldn't be asking you to move in with me if I wasn't sure. Plus we're in need of a new room mate anyway. Also, it's eleven at night. No way am I gonna let you wander around looking for a hotel by yourself right now.

If anything, at least stay the night. If we scare you off, you can look for a hotel sometime tomorrow. But at least give us a shot. And I can introduce you to some of our friends so you'll know some people in your new home town. Please Jasey Rae don't make me beg." He stated very quickly as we walked outside.

I don't think he was breathing during that monologue. "Okay, fine. But if at any point you think I'm intruding, or being annoying just sa-"
"You just made the best decision of your life to let me be your friend." He said interrupting me with a hug. I laughed and pushed him away playfully.

We finally hailed a cab after Ashton practically ran into the middle of traffic. To say driving through Sydney was amazing was an understatement. Saying it was really hot out was an understatement as well. And of course me not being prepared while wearing jeans, a sweatshirt, and a old winter coat.

Being reminded of my appearance I asked Ashton for his phone and opened the camera being reminded of how Ashton taught me on the plane ride here. I flipped the camera around on myself and let out a shriek causing the driver to slightly swerve. "What the hell! Is everything ok?!"Ashton asked franticly. " I don't even understand why you chose to breath the same air as me. Why on earth did you let me continue on looking like this. I look like a hobo that was hit by a bus that fell into the ocean filled with seventy two day old garbage."I said taking deep breaths trying to compose myself.

"No one exactly knows who you are yet anyways. If it makes you feel better, you can freshen up when we get to the flat before we sleep. Then I'll show you around town in the morning so you can go shopping or whatever girls do."He said waving me off.

"What did happen to your head? I noticed early on, but I didn't want to be rude and point it out. It didn't seem you wanted to talk about it anyway." He said looking up at the gash on my head surrounded by a bruise. I tensed up because I knew he would ask but I hadn't thought out what to say to him.

"Ashton, if I'm going to live with your girlfriend, I need to be totally open and honest with you both. There's something I haven't really mentioned these past twenty four hours."I said hesitantly. "As long as you aren't about to tell me you're a serial killer, we can talk about it once we get inside." He said pointing out the window. The building was very modern. It looked more like a five star hotel than a flat block. "This is nice Ash."I said pulling myself out of the cab.

"Thanks, are you hungry?"He asked as we stepped into the elevator. "No, I'm alright, though I could use something to drink?" I asked. All I have had to drink is starbucks' sugary drinks to keep me moving. "Yeah sure, help yourself once we get in there." The elevator dinged as we reached the top floor. The halls were very a neutral grey but a lot if windows made up for it with the amazing view.

He walked down the hall with me following in pursuit to the third door on the right side. He twisted the key in and opened the door. The living room itself was bigger than my whole house. "This is insane Ashton. How'd you afford this place."I asked in awe. The door opened up right into the huge living room with black floors. There were four windows that were probably nine feet in diameter that over looked the city like the ones in the hall.

In between the windows there was a large flat screen mounted with many wires and game counsels connected to it. On the right was the open kitchen and dinning room that was almost the same size as the living room. Then the left side had a few steps that led to a large hallway.

"My mum owns the place so we get to live here for free. Do you like it? Sometimes I feel like it gets to alot to take in and adjust to."He said rubbing the back if his neck. "You liar! You said you needed a roommate. But it turns out your Richie Rich's second cousin!"I said punching his shoulder. He smiled innocently and shrugged.

I rolled my eyes. "Follow me."He said suddenly. He led me to the hallway and opened the second door on the right. there was a queen sized bed with simple white bedding. There was a large window sill with a view of a city that never sleeps. There was a night stand on each side of the bed with simple lamps.

Across from the bed, another flat screen similar to the one in the living room was mounted on the wall. Finally  two large clear doors were on the left side of the tv which I assumed was the closet. "Ashton, I'm speechless. I'm so grateful for all of this. I wanted to help pay rent but since obviously you don't, I want to help out somewhere." I said taking a seat on the bed and taking my backpack off while setting my duffel on the ground.

"Uhm, well. You can do the grocery shopping every other weekend? At least that's what Cat does because she said the same thing actually."He said taking a seat next to me. "Awesome. When do I get to meet this mystery woman of yours?"I asked. "Well, she's at work actually. She works at the bar a few blocks away. She'll be home in a few hours. I could ask her to come home early though if you really want to meet her, I don't think she would actually mind that."He said chuckling pulling his phone out.

"No no. I don't want to inconvenience her. I can wait until tomorrow."I said firmly. "Alright. Well, I'll leave ya to it then because I'm actually wiped. Help yourself to anything, this is your house now too. We'll figure out a plan for tomorrow in the morning , sound good?"He asked yawning in the doorway. "Yeah of course, see you in the morning Ash."I said as he walked out the door.

"Bathroom is right next to you!"He yelled before the shut of a door was heard. I sighed and sprawled back onto the bed. I sighed not wanted to get up but then I caught wind of my own stench and cringed. God bless Ashton's soul for even associating with me this long.

I struggled my way into sitting up and grabbed my backpack walking into the bathroom. Once I was done showering, I felt like I shed a layer of skin. I was new again. I threw all of my stuff on the floor of my new bedroom not worrying about cleaning right now and clambered into bed. I sighed in content and stared out the window until I fell asleep. I have never fell asleep so easily.
