Chapter 6- The New Kid Part 2

JANELY

We walked up to our class and the majority of us had the same classes together. I guess this is what happens when you cheat off of each other in freshmen year. Teachers actually believe you and your friends have the same IQ for the same classes together. We had to choose our seats and I sat next to Kai, while Sora and Hiro sat next to each other as well. Aaliyah, my bully, and Katniss, a potential love interest to Kai and one of my friends, sat at another table close to us. Since it's still the first week of school, we don't have anything to do.

Aaliyah looked over at us and turned her attention to Kai, which I looked at Aaliyah and mouthed at her "Back off". She rolled her eyes and focused back on her group of friends. Katniss looked at Kai and Hiro looked at her and smiled and then rolled his eyes. Weird. I have bad feelings about Katniss but if HIRO does that after waving or smiling to someone, then they must be bad news. The teacher came inside the classroom and told us what we would be doing, nothing much though.

Later, at our lockers. It was the end of the day, I didn't have much of my stuff to put away so I just decided to decorate mine a little. Kai's locker was a little far away from mine, he looked towards me and waved. I just stared like an idiot and he laughed a little, I guess he thought I was being funny. I laughed a little to try and match his energy and closed my locker. Hiro finished with his and went to the wall. I followed and leaned against the wall as well. Hiro looked at me and smirked. "So, what was that?" I avoided his gaze and asked. "What are you talking about? What's what?" He flicked my forehead and said "Kai waved at you, and it's like you completely spaced out. Were you thinking about how handsome he was or about getting dicked down?" I immediately punched Hiro's neck. "Bitch what?! I just met the guy!" He winced and rubbed his neck. "Sheesh, but it's true. You can already be having those thoughts." I pinched his neck again. "Shut up. I'm not having those thoughts about a kid I just met."

Sora came over and rubbed Hiro's neck. He pouted at Hiro and said "Did you bother the queen again?" Hiro nodded his head yes. "She's not a queen though. She's mean. And very violent." I growled at Hiro, which he growled back. Sora asked "Are you dogs now?" I nodded my head yes and Hiro did as well. Sora sighs and puts his hands on his hips. "What am I gonna do with a pair of dogs? How about I adopt this one, and Kai can adopt you?" I blushed. "Sora not you too!!" He laughed and said "I'm kidding. Or am I?" "I'll pinch your neck." Sora covered his neck and Kai came over and pat my head. "Calm down, little chihuahua." I blushed red once again and decided to cover my face this time.

Hiro laughed and pointed at me "A taste of your own medicine, bitch." Kai said "Don't call her that. She'll bite you. She doesn't like that word. She doesn't like the middle finger either. She'll bite your finger off." Kai wrapped an arm around me "Come on, chihuahua." Sora put his hands up in defense. "I did not think you guys were this close already." Kai chuckled and said "Eh, things happen. But seriously, get home, guys. You guys are gonna get picked up or walk home?" I responded "Walking." Kai looked down at me and said "You sure you can walk home by yourself? You're so tiny." "I will smack you." Kai put his hands up in defense "Woah, little chihuahua."

Katniss came over and locked arms with Kai. "Kai, do you walk home or get picked up?" He looked down at her blushing a little. I responded "Katniss. I don't think he likes being touched like that. Especially without consent." Katniss removed her arm and apologized. Kai answered "Um, I walk home. I'm old enough and pretty tall." Katniss said "Well, I walk home too...can you walk me home? I'm very tiny and I don't have anything to defend myself if I get attacked." Kai said "You can ask someone to pick you up. I was planning on walking with my friends until we have to go our separate ways." Katniss pouted and said "Then...can I walk with you?" Kai looked over at us. I shook my head no, Hiro and Sora did the same. Kai looked back at Katniss and said "No thanks. We probably don't have the same route. So, you won't be able to walk with us for long. Maybe next time if I have any free time to spare after school, I can take the walk with you." Katniss pouted "I'm sure we can walk for at least a couple minutes. I wanted to get to know you guys for a while. I don't have many friends..." Kai sighed and said "Alright. Come on."

KAI'S POV

We all left. Obviously I was annoyed by her wanting to come, but I wasn't going to just show that to her. I wanted to deny her in a friendly way. I'm not a very mean person to just say something mean to her face like "No, we have enough people." Or "No, we don't really like you or know you like that." I sighed and mumbled to myself "Why am I so nice?" As we were walking, Katniss whispered to me "You go along with the boys. I wanna talk with Janely real quick." I shrugged and walked with Hiro and Sora.

JANELY'S POV

I was walking trying not to disturb the little chemistry Kai and Katniss might have had going on. At the corner of my eye, I saw Katniss standing there, waiting for me to catch up. I caught up to her and she walked beside me, far away so the guys couldn't hear our conversation and she said "So, you and Kai are friends?" I nodded my head. Katniss and smiled "Can you just end it with him?" My eyes widened and I asked her "What do you mean by that? Just end it?" Katniss was still smiling at me and she said "Just end the entire friendship you have built with him. Make up a lie. Say something like you don't feel comfortable with it. I wanna be the only girl in his life, we'll become friends, then very close friends, and then be friends to the point where I can meet his parents and siblings, and even have sleepovers. Then, we'll be boyfriend and girlfriend."

I nodded my head no. I wasn't scared of this girl, I was just shocked that she had such guts to say that. "No. We can both be his friend. He wanted to be friends with us. I'm not gonna break his heart like that so soon just so you can have your own happiness. Buh-bye." I caught up with Kai and locked arms with him. He looked down at me and smiled and patted my head. "Little chihuahua."
