Em's POV:
I listened to the grunts and snores of the men on board the plane. They were all sound asleep, headphones on and lights out. I on the other hand was wide awake, like I knew I would be. I'd watched a ton of films, scoffed my face with the food at the buffet table and threw Haribos at Harry while he slept, seeing how many I could get to sit in his hair. 34 was my total before I got bored. I shuffled around in my seat before groaning quietly. When does this flight end? I pulled up the blind on my window a little bit and looked out, seeing nothing but blue ocean below us. Must still be going over the Atlantic then. I shut the blind, plunging the cabin back into darkness. I decided to get a drink so I stumbled my way down towards the front. I noticed a light coming from a TV screen near the front and as I got closer I realised Niall was awake and watching a film with his headphones in. I bit my lip and tried to creep past without him noticing, not wanting to chat.
"Oh hey, I thought everyone was asleep," an Irish accent whispered. Fuck. I spun to face him with a small smile.
"Guess not," I whispered back with a shrug. I mentally went back and forth in my head, trying to decide whether to be nice or a dick. "Want a drink?" I asked eventually, deciding it can't hurt to at least be somewhat friendly. Niall smiled and nodded.
"A lemonade would be grand. Thanks," he grinned. I walked off to the table and poured Niall his lemonade and myself a Pepsi. Returning to his chair I handed him his drink and he thanked me again.
"You already said thanks," I shrugged. Niall blinked a couple of times.
"Oh right," he shrugged. "Wanna watch? You can have a headphone?" He offered. I glanced over at the screen and saw he was watching Jumanji. A small smile played on my lips. What are the chances?
"I watched that with Harry last night," I shrugged. Niall rose an eyebrow.
"So?" He challenged. I narrowed my eyes at him, trying to work out what he thought of me.
"Fine," I agreed, taking a headphone and settling myself down on the chair with him. I wasn't going to let him challenge me. The chairs were so big that two of us could easily fit on one. I saw Niall smirk out the corner of my eye, as if he thought he'd won this or something. I scoffed and cross my arms. He hadn't won anything. Niall pressed play and I tuned in to the film, forgetting the petty exchange. Towards the end I started to feel myself getting tired, my eyelids growing heavy. I'd seen this film a thousand times, I didn't mind if I missed the ending. I allowed my eyelids to close and as I did I heard a ping. Ignoring it I waited as the lull of the plane helped me drift off to-
"Em, we've got to put our seatbelts on for landing," I heard a voice whisper while a hand shook my shoulder gently. I slowly opened my eyes and glared at Niall who was sitting next to me.
"Are you fucking kidding?!" I whisper-shouted. "The minute I'm about to fall asleep on this stupid flight and you wake me up!" I rolled my eyes and stomped off to the back, getting into my own chair and doing my seatbelt up. Ugh typical, I'm finally tired and I have to be awake. I knew I'd been snappy with Niall but whatever, it's not like he really cares about me anyway. He barely knows me. I was contemplating trying to get some sleep when the security started shouting, waking the boys up and telling them we were coming in to land. I groaned and plugged my headphones in, cranking up my music to drown them out. I glared out of the window for the landing, ignoring Harry when he poked me to check I was okay. When the seatbelt sign pinged off once the plane was still I leapt out of my seat and charged towards the door, keen to get wherever we were going so I could sleep. With my music still blaring loudly in my ears I couldn't hear anything else as I made my way down the steps. It was a surprisingly warm day and I was already regretting the joggers. As I reached the ground someone pulled on my shoulder, making me jump. I spun around while pulling my headphones out.
