Niall's POV:
I cackled with laughter as we all staggered back along to the hotel. My cousins were dancing in the street, jumping on my back and singing at the top of their lungs as the afternoon sun started to set. I'd had a lot to drink today, even I could hear the slurring of my words and I was seeing double of everything.
"The way you chugged that keg of beer at The Fox and Hare Nialler." I tuned back in to the conversation at the sound of my name, grinning in the direction of my cousins as I couldn't be sure who had spoken.
"I wasn't gonna back down from a dare," I retorted, earning more laughter from everyone. I saw the hotel up ahead and jogged forward, jumping onto one of the boy's backs and laughing as he carried me over to the entrance.
"We have two hours until our flight is scheduled boys," I heard Liam's voice say as we all gathered on the pavement outside. I turned when I was on my own two feet again and grinned as a fuzzy Liam came in and out of focus in front of me.
"Liam!" I cheered, throwing my arm around his shoulders and ruffling his hair.
"Yeah Nialler it's me," I heard him laugh.
"What would we do without you Liam, you always make sure we catch our flights," I told him honestly, having an overwhelming surge of appreciation for him. Liam patted my back and in my haze I saw a smile on his face.
I heard a giggle and my stomach fluttered at the all too familiar sound. The sound that makes me grin like a maniac, makes me want to laugh along too even if I don't know what's funny, makes me want to spin her around in my arms and tell her how much I adore her. I turned to the sound and there stood Em. Even through my drunken haze I could see the beautiful smile lighting up her face as she looked at me in amusement.
"Someone's had a few too many," she remarked. I grinned cheekily back at her and tried to walk forward so I could be next to her. I stumbled over nothing and ended up staggering over instead but as soon as I was close enough I snaked my arms around her waist and pulled her into me. Although my vision was questionable and everything seemed fuzzy, I focused really hard on Em's face so I could see that gorgeous twinkle in her bright green eyes as clear as day.
"What?" Em asked with a nervous smile as I looked at her. She reached up and tucked a strand of her hair off her face, her cheeks flushing slightly red under my gaze. I watched all these details and I knew I had a grin on my face as I did so.
"I just think you're perfect," I blurted out before I could even register what I was saying. I felt my own cheeks heating up at my admission but Em's smile grew bigger.
"I'm certainly not perfect," she scoffed with an eye roll but that smile didn't falter. I shrugged and kissed her forehead.
"You are to me," I whispered.
"Awww Nialler you've gone all soppy!" I heard one of my cousins shout. Maybe my whisper wasn't quite as much of a whisper as I had thought. I rolled my eyes and removed my arms from Em's waist so I could go over to my family. They all bundled me into a group hug and started jumping and cheering once again.
"Thanks for today lads," I said when they released me.
"Come back soon, you can pay next time you cheeky motherfucker!" I laughed and punched my cousin's shoulder playfully.
"Deal! See you boys soon." We stood at the entrance and waved as my cousins went stumbling down the streets, their figures disappearing round the corner.
"Come on, you have packing to do," I heard my girlfriend's voice. She slipped an arm round my waist and guided me inside. I was seriously thankful that I had her to hold me up because I was stumbling around enough as it was. The mosaic tiles on the lobby floor made my head spin as they merged together and I breathed a sigh of relief when we got inside the lift. Em didn't remove her arm from around me and continued to guide me along the corridor when the lift doors opened. She rummaged in my pockets and found my key card, swiping it and leading me inside. I let out a loud yawn as she closed the door laughing.
