Harry's POV:

When I emerged from my room now dressed and my hair looking less like a birds nest, Em was coming out of her's. I grinned at our matching Christmas jumpers, the words 'Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal' printed across the fabric. We had sat and quoted Home Alone word for word in the build up to Christmas four years ago so it was no surprise when we both unwrapped the same present from each other.

As Em returned my grin I was thankful that she was at least in a happy mood. I knew that Sam's presence today would infuriate her but I was glad she was finding it in her to bite her tongue and not cause a scene. Especially with those savings bonds, I was so sure that was going to set her off with the insults but luckily she had managed to release any frustration by laughing about it with me instead. I slung an arm over her shoulders as we headed for the stairs.

"So what do you want to do while we wait for Gem?" I asked her. Em frowned as she thought.

"Eat chocolate, watch films, maybe we could get Sam to play Cards Against Humanity with us just to see the horrified look on his face." Her eyes lit up at the idea and I shook my head with a laugh.

"Maybe we can start with a game that's more his speed, you know, to ease him in rather than chuck him in the deep end?" I suggested lightly. Em shrugged and I knew she was only half agreeing to keep the peace. We went into the kitchen and I made us another cup of coffee each.

"You spoken to Nialler today?" I asked her as I spooned coffee granules into the mugs. Em shook her head.

"No, I sent him a text when I got up this morning but he hasn't replied. It's still early so I don't know if he'll even be awake but if he is he said yesterday that he's got the whole family coming over so he'll probably be busy with them," she shrugged. I nodded while adding the boiling water to the cups.

"I'm sure you'll hear from him soon," I tried to reassure her. I couldn't tell if she was bothered by his silence or not. Em chuckled and nodded.

"Yeah I know, it's fine he's with his family. I'm not expecting him to give me a ton of attention today," she grinned. I chuckled as well and nodded.

Em got the milk from the fridge and I smiled at the charm bracelet that jingled around her wrist. I had spent hours going up and down Oxford Street with Niall looking for a present for her. He knew what he wanted to get but on the way to the jewellery store I had been stopping him at every shop to try and find something for my sister. I knew I was thinking about it too much but for the last two years she's been a different person, closed in on herself with a brick wall built around her. The change I've seen in her over summer makes me so damn happy and so I wanted to get her something really good for Christmas. I was on the brink of giving up when Niall dragged me into the jewellery store that he wanted and showed me the necklace he had seen.

"A sun and moon?" I asked him.

"Yeah, it sounds so lame if I explain it so I'm not gonna because you'll laugh," he chuckled, his cheeks flushing red. I nodded at him, silently telling him to go on. He rolled his eyes but gave in and told me. "When I first had a bit of Night Changes written I played it to Em on the roof of the tour bus. And then as I wrote more I kept running it by her just to get an opinion. Even though the song isn't about anyone in particular I feel like it's kind of become our song. What with everything that happened at the end of summer the lyrics just seem to fit us. The whole idea that even when everything around us changes, like where we're living and what's going on in our lives, we never will. Even though she's in Cambridge and I'm all over the world, we'll make this work because I love her more than I can even put into words." Niall let out a nervous chuckle and the blush on his cheeks darkened. "I thought a sun and a moon worked because it's like the night changing into day? Or do you think that's stupid? Because I can think of something else, maybe she won't get it and I'll just look like an idiot. I'll just get a heart or something or-"
