For the first time since I moved in with Charlie I wake up to him sitting next to me, wide awake. He's looking up something on his phone so he hasn't yet realized I'm awake... or maybe he just pretends he didn't so he can call me out on watching him.
"Good Morning" I say so he can't do the second. He seems like he actually didn't notice I'm up because he looks surprised to hear my voice. "Good Morning." He doesn't look up from his phone. "What are you looking at?"
He finally tears his eyes off his phone and looks at me, a smile forming on his lips. "Remember you owe me a wish?" Yes, I remember perfectly how, in order to return to my righteous position on the ground, I had to grant him whatever he wants, so I nod my head.
"Well, I've decided." I move myself into a sitting position. "What is it?" His eyes turn so excited, I wouldn't be surprised if little sparks would leave them any minute. "I'll take you hiking. Like, full on. With camping."
I nod my head slightly. "Ok." He looks confused for a moment. "I didn't think it would be that easy." Now I'm confused, so I tilt my head. "Vic... I know you hate being anywhere near insects." He's right about that one. "But I said anything... and I mean, I can't categorically deny something I've never tried, right?"
Plus, I truly believe that there is nothing... and I mean nothing... that isn't fun when he's around. If he's so passionate about it I should at least give it a shot. "Ok... are you free next Monday and Tuesday?" I roll my eyes. "You know I am... you know my schedule." The sexy smirk I love so much forms on his lips. "Great."
When we finally leave Charlie's room Josh and Jenny are already up and eating breakfast on the couch. "There's some left. But be quick before Jenny get's it." Charlie and I immediately burst into laughter. I love how everyone constantly teases Jenny about her eating habits.
"Ouch!" I don't need to look to know Jenny just poked Josh for his little comment. The two of them are really adorable and I'm so happy they finally managed to get it together and realize they are in love.
"Tori... can we go see the city today?" Before I can say anything Charlie says. "You definitely will." Then, turned to me he says "I spoke to Valerie, she'll manage the club as long as the two of them are here... AND until you and I are back from out little adventure."
I really need to send Valerie on a long long vacation once I'll finally properly start working on my club. I'm starting to feel really bad. She's helped me so much already. I know she doesn't mind one bit because it used to be her club and she's still very attached to it but I'm not coming off as really responsible lately and I don't like it. Starting in one week that will change, I promise myself.
Charlie has today off too, so we decide to head down to Santa Monica Pier. It was Charlie's idea but I know his intention is to call me out on yet another cliché I like... the dance machine from Kissing Booth. Slowly I'm starting to feel a little embarrassed about myself.
On the walk down I whisper into Charlie's ear "You know you'll have to dance with me now, right?" He laughs a little before he says "I was counting on it. I'll smash you." Was that a challenge? He really knows me too damn well.
Josh and Jenny decided to go on the ferries wheel which I thankfully declined because I don't need shaky legs if I wanna beat Charlie at the dance machine. So while they are riding the ferries wheel, Charlie and I go grab some ice cream and sit down, waiting for them.
Smiling happily Jenny and Josh return. "Alright, ready for your competition?" Josh throws a confused look at Jenny but she just smiles. "Hold on..." I gesture between Jenny and Charlie. "Did you guys plan that?"
They smile at each other victoriously. "Well... guess I'm not the only one that's predictable." I hit Charlie's arm playfully. I can't believe my best friend teamed up with my boyfriend against me. "Well... let's do this then." I jump up, determined.
I've never been on a dance machine before so I have a strong feeling this won't end well for me. Charlie let's me choose the first song but I literally don't know how to work this machine so we end up having to do the hardest level. It's a complete disaster. By the end of the song my tummy hurts from laughing.
Jenny and Josh are bend on the floor and Charlie can hardly stand straight, that's how hard they are laughing. Luckily, Charlie did just as bad as me. The next song he chooses and it is much easier. Still, I feel like I'm doing a hardcore workout. This looks so much easier on the screen. It is really, really funny though.
After the third song I need a break, so Jenny and Josh give it a try. I'm really happy to see they do just as bad as Charlie and I. "I guess we all loose." Jenny says as she and Josh finish their song.
It's already kinda late so we decide to just hang out at the beach for a while before we head back to the apartment. We just sit and talk for a while but then we are interrupted by the buzzing of Charlie's phone.
"Hey Ben, what's up?" Only seconds later Charlie's gaze darkens. "You're kidding?" For some reason I have a really bad feeling. "Alright, thanks Ben." After hanging up Charlie takes a deep breath before he turns to me and says "Max' trial date is set... it's on Friday."
