When Julie and I got home, we were both fuming. The guys had crossed a line today. "How are you Jules," I asked her as we walked into her room.

"To be honest, I don't even know what to say. We trusted them to be here for us today. It's a huge thing. At least it is for me. I know that a school dance isn't what they are used to but, come on. We're just freshmen in high school, it's the best we could do and they're throwing it away for some stupid vendetta. If they're not here like they promised, I'm gonna be beyond hurt and angry," Julie threw herself onto the bed.

I sighed as I sat in one of her bean bag chairs, "I could understand why they would want revenge on Trevor, or Bobby, what ever his name is. I just wish they took out their anger tomorrow. Tonight means a lot to both of us. It's a chance to get our names out there just like we've dreamed of since kindergarten."

Julie flipped over so she was facing me, "What are you planning on singing tonight anyways?"

I laughed at her ability to change a serious topic to me, "Um actually I wrote a song last night. It's about...someone."

"Ooo that's interesting. Is it for Danny" she asked with a smile.

"Someone just special to me. Not every song that I write doesn't have to automatically be for him anyways Jules," I got up from the chair, "I gotta go start getting dress. You know gotta look the part of a rockstar."

The song that I prepared was for Luke. It may come across to people that it's for Danny, but it's really not. It's how I want to be with Luke... in a much more intimate way. Although, I haven't been with anyone like that before, since my brother made sure no one came close enough to even kiss me when he was around. When Danny and I told him about our feelings for each other, it took Nate awhile to become okay with the situation, but still hated it whenever we kissed around him.

Luke has made me feel special, but also like shit. He's always so engrossed with his time with Julie, and he only ever spends time with me when he knows somethings off with me.

Tonight, I wanted to change the way he looks at me. I wanted him to look at me like I'm the only girl in the room. I know Julie likes him, but I can't let go of the one person that shows that life is worth living.

I spent the next two hours rummaging through my clothes, taking a shower, and curling my hair. This is my night.

I arrived with Julie the dance, in hopes that the guys would meet up with us there because they didn't come back home earlier. Julie and I were shocked to see at how many people actually showed up to the dance, and were actually dancing. Usually people would just smoke, make out, or just sit on the chairs but the songs that Flynn was playing actually got people to get up.

Julie and I walked up to the stage to talk to her, "How you feeling guys?"

Julie spoke first, "I'm a little nervous."

I glanced over my bare shoulder, at the huge crowd of people, "No shit. I'm about to pee my pants because I'm scared." I held onto the case tighter that held my brother's guitar.

"You'll be fine. All your gear's backstage. Come on," Flynn waved her hands to us, showing us that we can get go around the stage.

"Oh my gosh. You girls look amazing," Flynn yelled as she got a closer look at our clothes as she hugged us.

"It's my mom's. I finally went through her stuff," Julie proudly said as I wrapped an arm around hers.

Flynn smiled at how far her best friend has come since the passing of her mom, "She would've loved that you wore that." Flynn started looking around the room.

"Uh... what are you doing," I asked.

"Are the guys here," of course she would think about her 'eye candy.'

I shook my head at her, "Nope."

"They will be though," Julie brought her eyes to meet mine, "They know how important this is to me. Plus I don't think they'll miss an opportunity to see Nova play."

Suddenly, I really had the urge to pee. My nerves were getting the best of me, "Hey guys I'll be back. I really have to go pee."

Once I left the chaotic loud room, I finally has the chance to relax. Instantly, I felt my nerves ease at the quietness. I walked into the bathroom across the hall and found Carrie there in front of the mirror, fixing her makeup.

"Would you look at what the cat dragged in...trash," Carrie said as she saw my reflection in the mirror.

I rolled my eyes at her, not wanting to give her the satisfaction that her words got to me.

"Hey I'm talking to you!"

"What do you want Carrie? Can't you see I'm busy," I turned on my heel to cross my arms to face her.

She flipped her hair as she turned around and leaned on the sink, "What? Gonna do drugs in here as well?"

I pushed back a piece of my curled hair, "I don't have to explain what I'm doing to you. You're a nobody to me. To everyone else, you're just a raging bitch that's a pimple on everyone's asses. Even Nick's."

She scoffed at me, before grabbing her makeup bag and walked out of the restroom.

After using the restroom and washing my hands, I walked out and was met with Danny. My brows furrowed because I didn't tell him about tonight. "Danny," I asked, "W- What are you doing here?"

"Flynn told me you would be here. Why didn't you tell me that you had a gig tonight," hurt washed over his face.

I looked everywhere, but at him, "I guess I forgot."

He scoffed, "You seem to be doing that a lot lately."

I sighed heavily, "It was a really last minute thing that I just found out about earlier today, and I've been really busy. You know writing a song, rehearsing it and-"

"Nova are we okay," Danny asked making me stop talking completely. "We haven't been the same for a while now and I... I just want to know that if you want to be in this relationship anymore. You seem so distant from me now. As if you're avoiding me."

I ran a hand through my hair, "Look. Danny can we please not talk about this here. Not when I'm about to-"

"Then when! I tried talking about it yesterday Nova but you left."

"Danny please," I pleaded

He shook his head, "No. I need to know. Now. I can't keep doing this if you don't want to. It's not fair to me," his voice cracked.

"Honestly Danny, I don't know what I want anymore. Please just... met me at my house after the gig and then we can talk about this. I promise," I told him as I pushed past him.

"Fine and Nova," I halted, "Good luck in there."

I closed my eyes and let out a breath, and walked away from him.
