So sorry for the inconvenience, but a new chapter should be up within today or tomorrow*

It was nighttime when Julie and I made it back to our house. Luke was standing outside on the porch, leaning on the pillar. Julie and I slowly came to a halt once he became aware of our presence. "Hey," Julie held her hands around her back.

Luke's mouth fell open as he stared at me, "Hey."

"I'm sorry for overstepping," Julie walked towards the steps to the porch as I was hesitantly following behind her.

Luke pushed himself off of the railing and came towards me, "No, I... I just had to leave." He brought his eyes to mine, "That was-"

"You don't have to say anything," Julie interjected.

He glanced at her, "Yeah, I do. Uh... I didn't have many regrets in my life except for running out on my parents. Especially my mom, so... thank you."

"You helped me feel more connected to my mom, so..." Julie trailed off, "I wanted to do the same thing for you."

He took a step closer to Julie, eyes connecting to hers, "That was perfect."

My mouth fell open as he tried to hold her hand. I took a step down on one of the stairs, and shoved my hands in my pockets. As soon as I think, me and him had a spark, Julie proves to me that they are the ones with the connection. Not me.

Julie turned away, embarrassed as her hand fell through his as Luke sighed

I cleared my throat, not wanting to be here and have my heart shatter even more. "I'm gonna go," I pushed back a strand of my hair as I walked away.

"Where are you going," Julie questioned me.
