*Sorry guys! I don't know what happened when I uploaded my chapters but it completely skipped over this one. This chapter uses the song 'God save me but don't drown me out' by Yungblud. Enjoy!"

The next day, it was time to do the dance with Danny. I was completely terrified because we haven't spoken to each other since the break up. When I walked into the dance room, I noticed him sitting down, surrounded by some of his guy friends. Slowly, I made my way over to him.

"Hey," I mumbled behind him.

He was quick to his feet, "Hey. Um, how are you?" Danny hesitated, scared that I might unravel.

I bit my lower lip, "In all honesty... not that great. Everything in like seems so much duller without her. She was so extremely important to me. "

"You know," we began our dance, "I will always be here for you Nova."

After the dance, Flynn and I tried to find Julie, as she ran out of dance class. We find her in the music room, playing the piano.

"There you are," Flynn exclaimed, "We're been looking all over for you."

"Yeah," I said, "Are you okay? You just kind of ran out of there."

"Sorry," Julie mumbled, "I just needed some air. It was a little intense in there."

"Oh, I noticed. Dancing with a guy you've had a crush on for forever will do that to a girl," Flynn raised her brows with a smile. I rolled my eyes at the girl.

"Yeah, but the whole time we were dancing, I was thinking about Luke," as soon as Julie said that, I checked out. Pain filled me again. It seems to me that Julie and I will always be in a competition when it comes to Luke, although she wouldn't know because I don't dare to tell her about my feelings for him.

"Seriously," Flynn questioned, "First off, called it. Second, I know you always want what you can't have, but Luke is next level."

Julie sighed, "I know. And now I think Nick likes me. Nick!"

"He really does," Flynn smiled.

"But me and Luke just clicked. And he's so-"

"Not real. You can make all the music you want with Luke, but... he'll always be a phantom." Flynn's words rang through my head, echoing. People always want what they can't have, even if it will only hurt them in the end. "So.... here's what we're gonna do. Send Nick a nice little friendly text asking him to come to your party tonight-"

"Wait," I was ripped out of my thoughts, "Party?"

"Oh yeah," Julie said, "My dad is having us perform tonight at a party at our place because he feels bad about last night."

"Great," I jumped up, "I gotta go write a song and pick out my clothes, so I'll see you guys later," I ran out.
