*DISCLAIMER THIS CHAPTER USES THE SONG "In the end" by Linkin Park*
Throwing open the doors to the backstage entrance, I pushed my way through to the stage after handing my flower to Julie, ready to finally perform to my full potential.
"Welcome to live at the Orpheum. Now give it up for Nova Garcia."
The announcer presented me as I walked onto the stage, everyone clapping and whistling for me. My chest falling up and down at a rapid pace since my nerves were sky rocketing. I grabbed my guitar that they left for me on a stand, the only thing beside Nate's necklace, that makes me feel close to him. It's like he's here soaking our success in with me. This time, I decided to sing a song that Nate wrote and is on the track rapping as I sung. People deserve to know that he was someone of great talent, and that shouldn't just be lost and forgotten now that he has passed on to another life.
I stood behind the microphone and glanced back at the live band the Orpheum set me up with. I gave a little nod to the guy playing the piano, telling him to start and as he did, the stage crew started the smoke machine. When the music started, it's like this different side of me was clawing to get out. A side of me where I ooze confidence, elegance, poise, and dominance.
NOVA
It starts with oneeNATE
One thing, I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind, I designed this rhyme
To explain in due timeNOVA AND NATE
All I knowNATE
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clocks ticks life awayNOVA AND NATE
It's so unrealNATE
Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on, but didn't even know
Wasted it allNOVA AND NATE
Just to watch you goNATE
I kept everything inside and even though I tried
It all fell apart
What it meant to me
Will eventually be a memory of a timeI swung my guitar around my body, fingers playing as I jumped up just as the beat dropped and fire spews up behind me as I sung my part. My hair was a mess as the stage crew had a fan hitting me directly in front, causing my hair to flow to cause a bigger effect with the fire and smoke around me. Everyone in the room gasps and shouts as they all got into the song.
