"come on she was cute."
"cute? that monster almost killed me."
"by coming to you? you're being overdramatic."
"she's been trying to kill me for the last few weeks, zuko."
"kiyoomi, you need to stop." he laughed.
sakusa was serious. zuko had no idea how serious he was. for a moment sakusa felt like she was a grim reaper sent to kill him off but then he shook his head at this ridiculous thought.
meanwhile zuko really found her cute. he started noticing y/n since sakusa offered her his umbrella because zuko was going to do so. it was very unlikely of sakusa to even walk near people but the fact he shared the umbrella with her, there must be something about her.
the volleyball team practiced for the entire day with short breaks since their competition was in a few weeks. the bell kept ringing and the periods kept passing.
the team was given a short break when sakusa came out of the court, covered in sweat which he didn't seem to mind. it was P.E period for the other class, he looked at the class running towards the field.
zuko walked to him and threw a water bottle to him. "thanks." zuko slowly was becoming a person sakusa was accepting, even if it's just accepting water he gave him.
suddenly he heard a familiar laughter which made his heart beat, fast. he looked at the other kids playing on the field, when be noticed the girl running away from who seemed to be her male classmate. it was the grim reaper.
for a moment, without his knowledge he was lost. he didn't seem to remember where he had heard this laughter before but it stopped when the male class fellow threw water on that grim reaper and the laughter started once again.
"you seem awfully distracted by her. or should I say attracted?"
"pfft, im just thinking how disgusting could they be, running around playing with tap water."
"yeah, tell yourself that." zuko smirked as he walked in the gym again.
sakusa knew he was joking but why does that that grim reaper keep showing up in front of him out of nowhere?
after practice, zuko wanted to dumb sakusa to get to know that girl who intrigued him with the fact sakusa didn't mind sharing an umbrella with.
"let's go." sakusa, came out of the gym, wearing the extra pair of school uniform he keeps with him.
"wanna have lunch?" zuko asked him.
"nah, mum already brought me a lot."
zuko nodded, distracted by the figure that walked passed by and went into the convenience store. zuko grabbed sakusa by his sleeves into the store.
"what's the deal with you?" sakusa asked, annoyed.
"shh. I wanted to buy this..." he looked around, "this bowl of instant ramyun."
sakusa nodded, looking around the store.
"shittt that grim reaper!" sakusa said out loud while you were picking out your favourite milkshake.
"grim what?" zuko asked, paying at the counter.
you made your way to the counter.
"oh god I'm gonna go now zuko. goodbye take care." sakusa rushed out of the store as if his life was at the stake.
you, on the other hand, showed up at the counter, with your hands full of your favourite packets of chips and a milkshake, totally confused about why this strange guy was laughing.
