like the train passing his, thought overlap one another without a break. he couldn't help but think about the conversation zuko and he shared this morning.

"slow down champ!" it was break time yet sakusa was too hard on the ball. he looked over his shoulder to find zuko laughing and then drinking water. he wished to pour out all this on this innocent ball and that's what he did.

"WOAH WOAH." someone from the back said when sakusa hit the ball so hard it made a deafening sound when it hit the floor.

"SLOW DOWN SAKUSA." the coach finally called. sakusa, stood there, visibly angry and sweating as he held he bottle the coach handled him.

panting he grabbed his water bottle and made his way out of the gym, to breathe.

his eyes aimlessly roamed around, it has been like this these past few days, his eyes roamed around until they settled on someone particular. his anger seemed to vanish into thin air by a single sight of a person sitting on the bench with someone.

for a split second it felt like his heart stopped, maybe it did. cause it felt like the air seemed to stuck somewhere in his throat, coughing he turned around, opening his bottle. gulping down a big chunk of it down, hoping for the dryness to disappear only to find zuko, making his way to him.

a moment of silence as sakusa's friend reached him. zuko motioned towards a bench and they both walked there. it was near where y

was sitting. not wanting to go, sakusa still went with all the conversation running through his head from this morning. they sat quietly, none of them speaking a word. sakusa could hear his heart beating, maybe it was cause he was still catching his breath from the practice or for another reason he couldn't differentiate.

after a while of both just staring into empty space, sakusa decided to hammer the wall of silence with what occupied his mind since the morning.

"don't." he almost whispered, instantly regretting. not sure if zuko even heard and relief took over him when zuko didn't respond.

sakusa opened his bottle only to close it again, sighing he got up. "don't what, kiyoomi?" zuko asked, looking at him.

surprised by zuko's word, sakusa turned around to look at him. suddenly feeling a wave of unexplained emotions, he took a deep breath. he took the seat beside zuko again. "don't approach her." sakusa avoided looking at him.

"approach y

?" zuko looked at sakusa.

"just till i say so." sakusa looked back.

looking at sakusa, worrying about something zuko never thought he'd even give a second thought suddenly made him realize the reason behind him being all worked up with the game today, as if he held personal grudge with the ball. it was true, something was troubling sakusa, a lot. he pain was visible in his eyes, the confusion, the verge of tear, afraid he might cry just now zuko just nodded.

"i wont."

"thank you."
