it was getting difficult every night for sakusa.
the person in her dreams became a little vivid but more annoying how he felt like she was familiar but couldn't remember how. how he saw her hair now but couldn't remember after waking up. he even saw the mouth, the nose but forgot every time he woke up. it was like torture to him.

"how can i hold on to the hand of a girl's whom I've never seen, never touched, never felt. i don't know that foreign feel. i want to hold on to that hand and see her face. see that face, I've been longing for. I've been wanting to see, desperately."

and with that, for the very first time, sakusa felt the feeling of desperation. the want to touch something willingly, the want to hold.

he felt like he lost his mind- did he? or he might be on the verge to, he was unsure, but the only thing he was sure about was that he wanted to know this human. he wanted to touch and feel this human. it lead him to a weird desperation to get better, not that anything was wrong with him but to get comfortable with human interaction.

what he saw in the dream was someone he was walking home. a normal night, not too hot, not too cold but the perfect weather for walks. he felt a wave of serenity overwhelming him. just the existence of the person he was walking home was enough to make him feel tranquil like it was after endless of years the storm has calmed like his mind has come to rest, alas.

it was not a dream- it felt too real to be a dream yet he had to wake up. he had to realize that once again, he failed to make sure he'd remember the dream next time, it left his mind like it never came but leaving little parts of it like a fragrance you've long forgotten yet something hits you when you smell it and you can't remember what.

he sighed, getting up from bed. how could he forget his own dreams? he was afraid he might forget his own name someday. his life was becoming a disappointment to him. he got up and followed his usual routine to school.

reaching school, he looked around, aimlessly. to see a familiar face unknowingly. not too long after someone grabbed his shoulders and let go quickly, it was his friend, his one and only friend. zuko. A sudden wave of something unknown hit him when he realized he was looking for something, someone. what the hell am I even doing?

he shook his head, continued walking, "zuko!" a familiar voice called your friend's name.

you both turned around to see and found y/n running towards you both. a wave of deja vu hit him, something felt so familiar, nostalgic, like he has known the moment forever.

something similar hit you, making you freeze, looking at sakusa, you couldn't help but think, ponder where have you seen him before. a high, enormous wave of deja vu hit you, like so nostalgic that you almost felt homesick for the sight. his sight. something curled up in your tummy making you swallow your own saliva.

"yeah?" zuko brought you back to reality. you shook your head as you started walking towards them, suddenly the sight of sakusa made you nervous.

" umm.... I wanted to thank you for yesterday."

he smiled, "no biggie, you treat us next time."

"sure! oh, hi sakusa." you politely greeted him.

"hi." the level of politeness, confusion matched completely.

it wasn't long after when you heard the bell and walked in the school.
