"What if we watch a movie or something?" Summer asks, and gets up to take her laptop from the desk.
"I approve."
She smiles and slides the curtain again so that the daylight doesn't bother us. Then we get comfortable on the bed, our bodies leaning on the headboard and the laptop on her lap.
"Any suggestions?" She logs in Netflix.
"Netflix and chill I see..." I smirk. She scoffs, getting the double meaning.
"You like The Maze Runner?"
I shrug.
"Yeah, I don't mind." Whatever to stay in bed with her.
Summer doesn't waste more time and plays the movie, then places the laptop between us and changes her position to see the screen better. Now her head lies on my chest.
Good girl.
The movie sounds familiar to me, maybe I've already seen it and I don't remember well. But anyways I don't pay much attention.
"Hey, about our kiss... it doesn't change anything, right?" Suddenly she speaks. She keeps looking at the screen, maybe because she feels awkward to see my reaction after bringing that up.
"It was a drunk moment and you needed to feel better."
"So..."
"We're good." It's the truth; still great friends.
"I mean, I don't want us to act weird because of that."
"I won't, don't worry." I place a strand behind her ear. "We were just two fucked up friends that wanted a bit of real feeling."
"Okay." She whispers.
"Do you regret it?" I don't even know why I said that, it just came out of my mouth.
"No."
And for some reason her honesty comforted a part of me. She didn't even take time to think the answer twice.
"I think your friend doesn't like me." I change the subject after a minute.
"She's just cold with strangers. In fact, I thought Rae was just a rude person when I met her in high school."
"Well, it was a bit rude when she asked about my ex."
"Sorry about that."
"I don't really mind." I laugh. "I find kinda fun that type of arguments." Fortunately or not, I'm not very resentful.
For the rest of the movie I closed my eyes to get some more rest. My right hand was placed on her waist, and neither of us changed the position. When I hear that the movie is finishing I open my eyes again.
"One of my favorite sagas." Summer comments while rolling out of bed. I kinda feel low when her body left mine's.
This is bad, I can't let my emotions from missing physical touch control me.
I grab my phone and check socials to distract my mind. Summer comes back without the laptop and lies again on the bed, but this time with some centimeters of distance. I feel her looking at me. Why she keeps staring?
"You better stop looking straight to me like that, I swear to God." I say in a playful tone. She curves her lips.
"You won't do anything."
"Oh, really?" She doesn't know in what game she's playing. Instantly I turn my body and stand on top of her. Right after I notice my hand is around her neck. "I'm sorry, I-"
"It's okay, I kinda liked it."
Totally didn't expect that answer, although obviously I smiled.
Summer grabs one of my necklaces and pulls my body closer to hers. Guess now we're not just two best friends.
//
I felt the butterflies.
P.S: I'm so excited for the next chapter hehe.
