If you've seen Ginny&Georgia there's an easter egg in this chapter ;)
I wake up with a bit of headache. I grunt and turn to the other side to see if Summer is still asleep. My sleepy eyes don't see her very well so I open them widely, although eventually Summer is not in bed.
An instant later I hear very near the sound of water from a toilet. My mind doesn't connect the parts and I don't realize it was Summer who's gone to the bathroom until I see her coming out from there. It also took me some minutes to remember I'm at Summer's bedroom.
"You up?" She asks while stretching her arms. She then sits on her knees on the edge of the bed. I see that now she's wearing an oversized purple T-shirt and her hair is up in a bun.
I groan. I'm the worst morning person and she's about to see it.
"It's 2p.m, don't you wanna eat something?" She continues.
"I wanna sleep." I say in a very deep voice, and I cover my head with the pillow.
"Glad to see the bed is comfy for others." She giggles. Then she gets up again and slides the curtain so now the daylight invades the whole room.
"What are you doing?" I complain. It's true that I'm hungry and very thirsty, but my lazy ass beats them.
"I'll be in the kitchen, don't take too long."
I groan for the umpteenth time. I know it's her house, but I don't like when people give me orders.
"Wait." I say when I see her almost leaving. She stops and looks at me. "The bed is cold." I slap twice the edge of the bed.
I close my tired eyes and wait to her to come over. I don't hear her steps so I open my eyes again.
"You have a cute morning voice." It's everything she says before leaving away from my sight.
I didn't drank that much to have hangover, at least to me, but my body feels too heavy to get up. How can Summer be such a morning person despite being also nocturnal. Weird.
I hear indistinct chatter from the distant, which I guess it's Summer and her friend. I turn my body, staring at the ceiling and sigh. Will they have cereal? From the moment I start thinking of food, my stomach rumbles.
Shit, now I have to get up or it won't stop making noises.
I pick my T-shirt from the floor and put it on. I rub my eyes in order to be less sleepy and then I leave the bed. I put the converse on my feet before going downstairs.
Right when I'm almost at the last steps, two pair of eyes look at me from the kitchen. Summer's roomie -Rae if I'm not wrong- widens her eyes and looks at her friend, confused. I'm guessing she didn't tell her.
"You guys have cereal?" I ask, and I look for a bowl.
"Only Lucky Charms at your right." Summer answers.
"Umm, hello to you too." Dark blonde girl says at my back.
"Howdy neighbor." Actually we're living two blocks away, so technically I'm not wrong. I sit next to her to get on her nerves. I'm getting this feel that she doesn't really like me.
"So... Summer, wanna explain me?" Rachel takes a sip of her coffee.
"We came across this morning and I invited him." She shrugs. "Just normal friend stuff."
"Right..." Then she looks at me and frowns. "Could you please stop chewing so loud?"
Obviously I keep eating the cereals as I was and she gets mad. I see Summer holding back a laugh.
"C'mon." I say with fun. But she finishes her drink and puts the cup on the sink without saying a word. Then she speaks.
"So you are that drunk guy at the party?"
What?
"Who's not drunk at a party?" I say with sarcasm.
"I mean the one who freaked out when he saw his ex."
"Rae, since when you are you this rude?" Summer interferes.
"My name's Vinnie." I don't know what's the point on bringing up that topic.
"Rae."
I know, I want to say, but I keep shut.
"You're weird." I then say and she leaves the kitchen. I drink the milk from the bowl and put it on the sink as well.
I have nothing more to do here, so I think it's time to go. I check that my cell phone is in some pocket of my jeans. Shit.
"I left my phone up." I talk to Summer and run upstairs.
I look in the bed, under the pillow... Fuck, where could it be? I hear steps from the stairs. Oh, I hope it's not Summer's friend.
"Bingo." I find the small device on the desk.
"You leaving?" I hear Summer's voice at my back. I turn around.
"Well, I guess so. It's a pity we didn't stay in bed for some more time." I tease her and she chuckles.
"You're never going to stop, right?" She lifts her head a bit to look at my eyes. There's not too much high difference between us, maybe two or three inches.
"You tell me, we slept together twice and not even cuddle yet." I smirk and grab her arm. "I know you badly want to go back to bed."
"Oh, you know it?" She jokes. "Like, telepathy?"
"Mhm." I nod. "And now my mind tells me that you need to buy more cereal."
She laughs.
"Are you sure is my mind who's speaking and not yours?"
I walk backwards while pulling her until I reach the bed. Now I grab her hips and lift her slightly in the air and in a quick motion I lie her body on the mattress.
"Just for some minutes."
"Fine." She rolls her eyes. By the fact she's not putting so much effort at complaining I know she does feel like to it.
