When I wake up, she's already gone. The side of the bed where Summer slept is empty. After going to the bathroom, I go downstairs to eat something and to see if Summer is there. Surprisingly and fortunately I don't have hangover, just hungry and thirsty.

Summer isn't in the kitchen, however I don't ask if the boys have seen her. I don't want them to comment things that didn't happen.

While eating cereals, I remember that today I have to work at the skate shop downtown. I check the time. Shit, it's 11:35 and I have to be there at noon. I'll have to take Jordan's car.

Instead of wasting time taking a shower, I just put deodorant on my armpits and spray my body a great amount of perfume.

Eventually I'm a bit late, and my boss Gil tell me off. He's thirty years old, but he's the type of man that takes business seriously.

"Vinnie, either you're punctual or I'll have to fire you. I need my employees to be responsible at work."

"Yes, sir. I swear it'll be the last time."

"I hope so. Now please take charge of the counter."

I like taking charge of the payments, so that I see what people buys; I find it fun.

"Snoozed too much?" Nolan, my workmate, speaks. He's nineteen -one year older than me-, but he's cool. I like that guy. If it wasn't for him, the five hours that I have to be in the shop would be eternal and boring, even though I'm surrounded by what I most like.

"Pretty much." I answer. Nolan's assembling new skates, and as there's no customers yet, I look at his work and talk to him.

The first two clients enters an hour later: a kid and his mom looking for his first skate. But eventually they leave without buying anything. Then a group of teenage girls stop close to the entrance and lean in, but they stay outside. It's funny how girls do that stuff to see if they find any cute boy. Sometimes they do the same at the skatepark: stay and stare. In my case I don't pay much attention, although it's true it's a bit cringe.

I wave at them and they gasp, then leave awkwardly. Nolan laughs.

"I wonder if they came across the shop or if they came on purpose."

"Wouldn't be the first time."

"I mean, it's cool to see girls interested in skating, but those who really enjoys." He has a point. "You know someone, Vinnie?"

"I actually do." Nolan looks at me curiously. "Well, I met her last week. She's a cool girl."

"Did she come to the shop?"

"I don't know, bro." I chuckle. I don't even know if she knows about its existence, although it'd be a lil embarrassing if I told her about my job and she decides to visit me someday.

"Anyway, I think you're lucky. Skating with a girl is different in the good way."

"I guess so."

Nolan smirks.

"You know what I mean."
