It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine

"Time is almost up, Ms. L/N. You better hope your friends are coming to save you."
"They'll never give her up." I spit. "They'll never do it."
"Why wouldn't they? You are much more important to them, yes?" I clench my teeth at the man who paces back and forth.
"Prophet wouldn't let you take her." I say. "She knows that my life is worth the lives of everyone."
"I thought Prophet was a hero. She won't let you die, yes? That's what heroes do. They save people."
"She won't save me, trust me. You might as well just kill me now."
"Is that a request? Because I will." The man says, placing a knife directly on my throat. I try not to squirm as he gently drags it on the side of my neck, and I sigh with relief as I don't feel blood.
A loud thump distracts the man and I look up, feeling my heart rate slow. They found me. Peter got my message.
"Looks like they came for you." The man says. "They do care, yes?"
The door slams open and I see Steve and Natasha in the doorway. Natasha shoots the man behind me and he crumples to the ground.
"Nat!" I exclaim.
"Hey, kiddo." She says, rushing over to me. "Let's get you out of here." She unties me and I stand up, wrapping her in a hug. She seems surprised, but hugs back.
"We better go." Steve says.
"How did you find me?" I ask as we run towards the door.
"Your message. Peter found it." Natasha explains, and I feel my face soften. Peter. I haven't seen him in a day and I miss him already.
"He's upstairs. Let's go." Steve says, as if he's reading my mind.
"Don't use your powers," Natasha whispers. "If anyone sees you, they still think you're our assistant."
"Right. I'll just let you guys do all the dirty work." I joke, and it doesn't take too much time until we reach the Quinjet.
The doors open and I catch a glimpse of Peter, and I feel the relief in my chest. I watch him sigh, too, and I realize he was probably way more worried about me than I thought.
"Y/N!" He exclaims as I run towards him. He wraps me in a hug and I stay there, comfortable in his arms.
"Okay, break it up, you two," Tony says from behind us. "We have to go." I let go of Peter and look around.
"Thank you guys." I say. "I would have been dead if it wasn't for you."
"It was your message," Wanda says. "Without it, we wouldn't have found you."
"Come on, Y/N. Let's get you cleaned up." Natasha says, and I nod, following her. "Wow, you got out of there pretty unscathed." She says as I wince. "You can just tell your mom you just tripped or something."
"Crap, my mom. She's probably freaking out." I say, standing up.
"No, Peter handled it." Natasha assured me. "Something about a sleepover at Betty's house." I nod. "Okay, you're all good." She says, letting me stand up.
