CHAPTER VII

The night is dead and silent, while everyone was probably in their deep slumber at this hour, it's not the same situation for Kevin. The young lad was just lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling, it looks like sleep wasn't going to visit him at this point. The digital clock that is hanging on his wall says it's fifteen minutes past three in the morning. Kevin has been in that position for five hours now, just staring at the ceiling of his room, fighting the demons in his head. Kevin stopped drinking his sleeping pills two weeks ago, and it's also been two weeks since he experienced at least a decent sleep. No matter how much Kevin tried to fight it, he just couldn't, not when his mind and his life is in so much chaos.

It's been a year ago when he was diagnosed with a Major Depressive Disorder. He has been carrying this huge burden in his life now for God knows how long that even his friends and his own girlfriend doesn't know about it. In fact, no one knows about it. Kevin has been hiding it to them for a long time now and he has no plan on telling it to them, not now, not ever. And it's been also six months when Kevin tried to take his own life, but he didn't succeed. Kevin was so fucked up, he was continuously drowning in the pits of the darkness and he couldn't find a way out. When Kevin felt one time that he was going to explode and do it again, he finally decided to take the advise of the doctor to undergo a therapy. Kevin has been undergoing a therapy once a week for 5 months now, but the therapy isn't helping him at all. He just decided to continue because the therapist is the only person who knows his situation, and he is the only person that he can talk to about it. 

To everyone, Kevin is a ray of sunshine. Everyone look up to him and admire him because of his gentle and sweet personality. There is no day that Kevin wouldn't greet every person that he encounters; be it at school or in the public. But behind those cheerful smiles and bright personality, Kevin was fighting a lonely and hard battle every single day. He will go outside everyday and smile to every people he met but he will go home and closed his bedroom door while tears were falling on his face. No one knows what is happening to Kevin behind closed doors. While one can see him as the bright and tough one, Kevin is already tired, and he is on the verge of giving up.
