CHAPTER XI

(Sorry for the 2 days drought of update, I had a lot of workloads :< )

Two weeks have passed and Kevin was still oblivious to Arthur's job at their house, to which the latter was thankful for. Justin still kept on bothering him everyday just for him to sit with them on lunch and he always declined. It was Thursday afternoon when he forgot the book inside his locker, so he went back to get it. He was going downstairs to leave the campus after he got the book when he saw Kevin and Eliz at the stairs having a heated argument. They were shouting at each other as if they were the only people there, added to the fact that, that was not the first time Arthur saw them fighting. The reason which he definitely didn't know and he absolutely didn't care. Arthur just continued to go down the stairs when the two stopped their quarrels and looked at him, one was shocked and one was annoyed. He just looked at them briefly and then walked past them, looking unbothered by what he just witnessed with face devoid of any emotion.

Arthur was walking to the bus stop going home when a familiar black car stopped beside him. He knew who was it so he didn't stop walking, he just continued to his direction and the black car followed him slowly. Kevin opened his window and looked at Arthur annoyed as hell.

"Yah!" Kevin shouted but Arthur ignored him. Arthur opened his backpack and fetch his earphone and put it in his ears, purposely blocking Kevin's voice. Kevin watched Arthur put his earphones on and that pissed him off, he quickly drove on the sidewalk to stopped and blocked Arthur's way. Arthur was shocked and it was evident on his face, he took off his earphones and glared at the person inside the car who was also glaring at him.

"What the fuck do you want now?" Arthur was pissed, the audacity of Kevin to glared at him back made him pissed more, who does this asshole think he is to block me like that. He should have drove straight at me if he wants me to die already. Arthur said in his mind.

"Don't think that I do this because I wanted to talk to you. Just want to warn you. Do not ever tell to a single soul of what you saw or even heard earlier."

Arthur rolled his eyes. Of course he was just only thinking about his reputation. "That was not the first time that I saw you both fighting like kids, did the world discover it? No?"

Kevin continued to glare at Arthur, taunting him and making him pissed was Arthur's forte ever since, and it irks him even more. "I am fucking serious Del Valle, you will surely regret it the moment you open your mouth and tell it to the people inside school." Kevin hissed at Arthur

Kevin saw Arthur shifts his look from being pissed to a now blank face. Arthur just stared at him, face devoid of any emotions. Kevin fidgets on his seat, he started to feel uncomfortable with Arthur's stare. It's only Arthur who can make Kevin feel nervous with just one intense look. Kevin saw that look before, and he perfectly knew Arthur's next words would hurt him.

"Am I supposed to be scared right now? Because last time I checked Mr. Cortez, I don't and I will never give a fuck about your relationship. And stop telling me I will regret it because I have been in so many fucked up situations that the only time I felt regret was when I trusted someone who couldn't trust me back. So no, tell that to someone who actually care because you just barked at the wrong tree."

It was like Kevin got punched multiple times to his gut that he almost forgot to breath. He watched Arthur glared at him for one last time and walked past his car to his destination. Kevin remained still in his car, mind full of thoughts and realizations. He didn't want Arthur to be mad at him more than he already was, Kevin just want for Arthur to forget what he saw and heard not because of his reputation but because he was ashamed of himself that Arthur had to witnessed that. But of course, it will never be easy to just tell those things to his former friend given their situation right now so he just stayed there, not paying attention to the stares that he was getting from the passersby, or that he could get a ticket from enforcer in any minute for parking his car recklessly. Kevin just stayed there, looking at the direction of the person he once cared for so much, or should he say he still cared for until now. Kevin stayed there, mind full of what ifs and regrets. Kevin stayed there, until he could no longer count how much long he stayed in that spot.
