It's cold.
A tiny girl shivered under her blankets as she pulled them closer to her body. A loud bang sounded outside made her eyes snap open, she sat up in her bed looking around her dark room. There was another bang, her lavender eyes glanced over at her balcony window. Light, Bright yellow light was right outside.
Scrambling to her feet she went to the window peeking through the currents, she gasped, yanking them open. Fire. The Kingdom was set ablaze, people ran screaming through the streets getting attacked by people, their blood splattering to the walls and ground.
The small girl fell back onto her butt kicking away from the scene when screams came from outside her bedroom door. She looked over seeing a shadow on the other side, quickly she shot up dashing to a hidden door in the wall that led to her Grandfather's study. As soon as she was in her bedroom door was slammed open, feet thumping into her room. She didn't stop running, cutting through the narrow corners she came to a wooden door. Opening it she got into the study hurrying to shut the hidden door, she gasped for a breath holding her chest a relieved sigh escaped her lips.
"Sayuri," a chocking sound said behind her, stiffening she turned around slowly.
Blood. Blood covered the floor and smeared the wall where an elder man lied against, blood coming from his mouth and a deep wound in his chest where he held it with a hand.
The girl sucked in a terrified breathe, "Papa?" she asked the man who she assumed was her grandfather.
He nodded stiffly, "Come here my lily please you must hurry," she obeyed rushing to his side despite stepping in his blood, she did not care. He touched her cheek gently wiping her escaped tears smearing blood on her face, accidentally. "You must leave this place Sayuri," She began to cut him off but he shushed her, "Within my desk there is a scroll that only you can open. You must go to Konoha give and open it only for the Hokage, ask to stay in the village. Live your life there with your father."
The girl sniffled, "My father?"
"Yes, his name is Kakashi Hatake, " He coughed," He will take care of you, but," He paused. "You mustn't tell him or anyone else who you are, only two people, the Hokage and someone he trust. But not Kakashi, not until you know 100% sure you are safe. You remember those Justus I taught you dear?" she nodded wiping her tears away. "Use them, transform into someone else, that will defiantly keep you safe, change your name." his coughing became more shallow and rigid," Use your gifts to escape here, my little lily. Do not worry the Hokage is an old friend he will treat you kindly. " his eyes became dull, as he cough out one last time, "Go.... Stay safe Queen Sayuri." The hand that once rested on her cheek, slid off, onto the floor.
Her grandfather was dead, King Hiroko was dead, making Sayuri the rightful air to the throne, Queen.
Sayuri shakily stood up clutching her gray nightgown, sobbing. Until she heard more footsteps and voices coming to the study. Forcing herself to move she got into the desk drawer grabbing the scroll her grandfather wanted her to take. She wobbled to the door where the voices where at waiting for them to open the door, before they did though, she gripped a bracelet that rested on her wrist whispering Kieru she vanished, not entirely though, just invisible including her chakra.
The door opened revealing a man with pale white skin, long black hair and sinister looking eyes. Sayuri stepped to the side out of his way as he growled, "Where is she!" He whirled around glaring at the other men that followed him. Flinching she ran past all of them out of the room. Running down halls getting to the front of the castle.
The once large and beautiful doors that stood tall protecting the castle where now in splinters. She kept running as fast as her little four year old legs could go regardless of the pieces of wood piercing her feet, the dirt and blood of others coating her skin. People fell to there deaths all around her some fighting others just surrendering. Sayuri couldn't help but let out sobs.
I am their Queen, their ruler, their protector, yet.... a man slashed at an innocent old man splashing his blood in her hair. I can't help them... I'm so weak... Her feet dragged on, eyes clenched shut, sprinting past the helpless and fighters, she finally got to the edge of her Kingdom. She dared look back.
Seeing the horror flash into her eyes once again, she whispered, "Gomen...Gomensai..." Than yelled realizing one thing that could spare some of their precious lives knowing the physical pain she'll feel later, she gripped her bracelet, "GOMENSAI!" She sobbed. Some heads turned at the sound of her voice, including the Castle guards that fought, they saw a bright light, "PLEASE FORGIVE ME! STAY SAFE!...." She grounded her teeth readying herself, "KIERU."
The people that lived in the kingdom, their homes and shops, the castle, everything vanished.
"Where'd they go?!" Several of the attackers asked to themselves.
"Gomensai..." she whispered clutching her chest and the scroll, blood dripped from her other arm that held two other bracelets that were actually chains, as they cut into her skin.
Taking a deep breathe she dashed into the surrounding forest, not looking back at the raging flames where Hideyoshi Kingdom once was.
Image on the side is Sayuri when she's leaving her kingdom and the other one is the (older)cover photo, it's also Sayuri.
