Skip to the final rounds of the Chunin Exams.

The arena was filled with hundreds of ninjas and civilians as they cheered of booed for the fights. Zabuza and Haku sat near Sakura and the other genin from the leaf who didn't pass, Sakura greeting them. Haji stood down in the middle of the arena where the fights would take place as Genma the proctor that took Hayate's place when he sadly past away. He looked around, all of them were here excluding Sasuke and Kakashi. Haji looked up slightly at the Third Hokage as he gave permission to start without Sasuke and save his fight for later, his eyes traveled over to the sand villages leader and narrowed his eyes his hands clenched together.

"Alright the first opponents stay here, everyone else may go up there and wait for your fight," Genma pointed to the area where the genins had to go.

Haji walked passed Naruto, "Good luck."

Naruto grinned.

Once the genin were at the top the fight began, Haji stood next to Shikamaru and Nobuo for some reason stood oddly close to Haji, but he didn't pay attention to as he thought of strategies knowing something bad will happen. Neji had his Bykugan up and Naruto perform the clone justu.

Neji destroyed the clones leaving the real Naruto to stand there. This went on for awhile until.

Naruto limply stood to his feet blood dripped from his mouth, "I told you I'm not good at giving up."

Haji smiled nodding his head.

Naruto tried to perform another justu with all his chakra being pressed, his wounds began to heal as his chakra became visible. Haji's eyes widened.

Naruto glared at Neji, "Here I come!" Naruto ran around the arena throwing shiruken at Neji him blocking them.

There two holes created in the ground and Neji crawled out of one and Naruto lied in the other. "Loser sorry but this is reality." Neji states but looks to the ground shocked.

Naruto burst through the ground hitting Neji in the chin blood spluttered out of his mouth. The clone in the crater poofted away.

"Winner Naruto Uzumaki!"

The crowd clapped and cheered boosting Naruto's ego.

"Whoa! He won, seriously I thought he was a lameass -type like me," Shikamaru says shocked.

"Lameass-type?" Shino mumbles.

"Everyone's cheering him on, he's a kickass- type now," Shikamaru sulks slightly, "I probably can't beat him now, how depressing..."

Haku smiled and Zabuza chuckled, "Heh, looks like he won."

Naruto stood by Haji, "Did you see that teme!"

Haji offered him a small smile, "Good work idiot."

"HUH! What'd you call me?"

"Pipe down Naruto," Shikamaru urged while chuckling at Haji's comment.

Sasuke and Gaara's fight was decided to be pushed back and so began the next battle.

Kankuro and Shino Aburame come down!"

Kankuro looked over at Temari before saying,"... I forfeit!"

"HUH?!"

Temari brought out her fan and glided to the ground. "Looks like you're eager. Shikamaru get down here!"
