The Time A Snake Became Poison

All of the teams dashed forward into the forest. Soon after screams were heard, scaring team seven. Team Hoshi glided with grace through the trees as they spotted a team up ahead of them going at a much slower pace than they were. Mari licked her lips and grinned taking the large ninja star off her back and throwing it at the team. The weapon sliced right through their bodies, coming back like a boomerang to Mari. She caught it with ease.

They jumped down on the ground where the bodies landed, Kazu searched for a scroll, hoping for an earth scroll. "You've advanced in your throwing skills, Mari," Nobuo praised his arms crossed as he looked at her from the corner of his eyes.

She placed the star on her back and rubbed under her nose grinning, "No biggie."

Kazu waved the scroll in the air as he wiped off his hands and walked to them. "They had just what we needed," He pushed up his glasses.

"This test is way to easy," Mari smirked thinking the Leaf Village as weak.

"Let's go, maybe we can get to the tower before nightfall," Nobuo stated.

"Roger!"

Haji sat on a window sill in the tower and stared board out of the window. There was a knock on the door to his temporary room, it creaked open to reveal Anko with a box of dango. She smiled cheekily and threw a stick of dango at Haji, "Here have some of this kid." He caught it.

It had been a few hours since the second part of the exam had started and Haji was anxious, though he didn't show it.

"Yum! Nothing better than some dango and juice!" She popped open a can of juice and took a big gulp from it as she sat down in a chair across from Haji.

Anko opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted as a leaf ninja poofed in, "Big trouble Anko!"

"What are you talking about?"

"Bodies three of them! And they're weird, please come with me," he urged.

Anko sighed and looked at Haji, "Sorry kid, I'll be right back alright?" Haji nodded, "If anyone's early make sure you greet them, you know the drill!"

Anko gave a peace sign trying to act like nothing was wrong and the two of them were gone.

Haji stared at the place the disappeared at than narrowed his eyes out the window. Damn it... Haji closed his eyes and concentrated than snapped them open. "Sumire Himitsu me," he whispered. His eyes tuned violet as his vision zoomed in. Now he could see anything in the forest he wanted to. This skill was similar to the Byakugan but with this you couldn't see Chakra signatures.

He zoom his sight on were Naruto and the others were. Naruto was nailed to a tree, Sasuke stood still in fear, Sakura was afraid and confused when the man they were fighting shoot out his neck opening his mouth and biting Sasuke's neck. He dropped in pain, soon passed out.

Haji released his sight and shook in fear and anger. Those eyes. He'll never forget those evil eyes. Haji tried to swallow back his fear but threw up instead.

Five Days Later

Haji leaned against a wall his eyes closed with dark circles shadowing them as he waited for all of the other teams to show up. Most of them were already here, including Team Hoshi.

"Haji!"

He looked over to see a beat up team seven, Sakura's hair cut short, her waving to him.

"It's good to see you again!" she sighed in relief.

Haji offered her a soft smile, "I'm glad you're all alright."

They were called over to stand in rows, as Sasuke passed Haji glared at his curse mark.

In the front of the room stood all of the sensai's of the teams that passed plus some others like Ibiki, Anko and the Hokage. The Hokage began to explain several different things as well as a man named Hayate Gekkou stepped forward and cough his explanation out with the rules of the preliminary.

Kabuto quits and Sakura tries desperately to get Sasuke to quit but is unsuccessful.

The Hokage coughed gaining everyone's attention before they started, "We will also be having a couple of guest who will be watching the preliminaries. They are from the land hidden within the mountains and have never seen these sort of exams before and had requested to watch," He nodded to Riko, Batya, and Mamoru where they sat up the stairs in the corner.

"Good luck kiddies, Ahohohoho!" Riko shouted.

"Also," he looked at Haji, "Since Haji has been here waiting patiently for the next part of the exam he and a random choice will be the first fight."

Everyone looked at Haji as they realized he had been in the tower for those five days.

They began to mix up the names on the bored.

Please.... the Hokage thought... Don't be one of the Hoshi's....

Haji stared at the bored sweat dripped slightly from his forehead and clenched his fist. He began to feel sick when...

The Hokage lowered his hat blowing an annoyed puff of smoke out from his pipe.

Haji unclenched his fist in silent defeat. An draped it self around Haji's shoulders, "Looks like I get to fight you kid, eh?" Mari smirked flicking Haji's nose.
