The class soon filled with students the girls fighting over of whom got to sit next to Sasuke and past notes to Haji.

Today was graduation day.

"Settle down, and take your seats, class," Iruka shouted from the door. The girls pouted, but none the less sat in their seats. "Alright, for your final exam, you must generate a Doppelganger! Wait here until your name is called, and come then come next door."

Doppelgangers? Why did it have to be Doppelgangers? That's my worst technique! A blonde boy, named Naruto Uzumaki, thought to himself as started to freak himself out.

Names were called as it came to be Naruto's turn, but... he didn't pass. He sat on a swing just outside the Academy as people whispered rumors about him.

Haji passed with flying colors, he tied his black shinobi headband around his waist, deciding he'd rather not have it on his head. He scanned the area at some of the other new genin with their parents, wondering if his dad would be there or if he had another mission. His onyx eyes landed on the swing where Naruto sat. Naruto for some reason has always hated Haji and he never knew, without hesitation he made his way toward the depressed bot, despite the snide comments.

Naruto looked up slightly hearing footsteps coming towards him only to glare. Gah! I hate that guy. He thought while glaring at Haji, He's just like Sasuke! Always getting the attention.

Haji stopped in front of Naruto giving him a questioning look causing Naruto's eyes to narrow. "What do you want?" Naruto sneered at him, "Did you come here to gloat?" He knew Haji wasn't able to talk, but always assumed he was just like Sasuke, always beating him, always mocking him.

Haji tilted his head than shook it no. He reached into his weapons poach, making Naruto flinch thinking he'd attack him, and took out a small notepad and pen, flipping through a few pages he wrote something and revealed it to Naruto, but he refused to look at it.

"I already know what it says! You don't have shove it in my face, just leave me alone you teme. You're just like everyone else especially Sasuke," he huffed out crossing his arms and looking away.

Haji frowned, thinking, than decided after staring at Naruto, "I'm nothing like everyone else in this village nor am I like Sasuke, Naruto," Haji told him, his voice deeper but still high pitched because of his age. Naruto jumped and whirled his head around to Haji. Haji's eyes were closed and his mouth twitched up slightly in a smile, Naruto stared at him with wide eyes. "I was just asking if you wanted to go get some ramen, it is your favorite right? At Ichiraku's?" Haji's now open stared genuinely at Naruto.

Naruto was in disbelief, this boy who has never spoken to him or anyone for the matter! Was talking, to him!

Before he could even splutter out a word a voice called for him, "Naruto."  It was Mizuki. Soon Haji's offer was blamed to be some sort of trick and Naruto left with Mizuki pointing an accusing finger in his direction. Haji's eyes narrowed into a glare at the spot where Mizuki once stood. Something bad was going to happen.

"Yo, Haji!"

He looked over tiredly at the call, Kakashi Hatake, his father, "I see you passed," he looked down at Haji as he nodded. He gave him his famous closed eye smile, rubbing Haji's head messing up his hair. Haji grew an irk mark, raising his fist up he hit Kakashi's hand away, glaring at him. Kakashi chuckled, "Come on lets go celebrate!" he reasoned.

They began to walk away, Haji looked back to the swing glancing at it as it swayed in the breeze and than he looked back down sadly. This, however, didn't go unnoticed by Kakashi however as he replaced his gaze back to his book, Make-out Paradise, and placed his hand in his pocket.
