You awoke around ten in the morning on Saturday, eagerly climbing out of bed for once. Today was the day you'd get to meet Shoto's mother, and find out the truth about your own.
If they turned out to be sisters, just as you and Shoto predicted, then there was not only the possibility of rekindling their bond, but also saving his mother from the mental prison Endeavour had trapped her in.
It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for both you and Shoto.
You got up and took a quick shower, messily blowing drying your hair and leaving the ends slightly damp. You changed into some black cargo pants and an oversized, dark green t-shirt. Once you were dressed you headed downstairs, spotting your mom sitting on the couch enjoying a cup of coffee. Of course, you could've told her the real reason you were going out, but you decided it was best to not get her hopes up on the off chance your theory didn't play out.
"Morning Y/n," she called out from the couch, her greying hair tied back into a loose bun as her square glasses fell in front of her grey eyes.
"Mornin'. I'm going out for a bit, and I don't know how long I'll be, but I should be back before dinner," you informed her, grabbing a protein bar out of one of the wooden cupboards.
"Sure thing. Who are you going with?" she asked, turning over the back of the coach and looking at you with her gently aging face.
"Todoroki, you know, the son of Endeavour. I did my internship with him," you explained, biting into the protein bar as she raised her eyebrows at you.
"Todoroki huh? Where are you guys going?" she asked again, obviously suspecting the same thing as Bakugo.
"It's actually a surprise. If all goes well, I'll tell you about it when I get back! But I've gotta go or I'll be late, bye mom!" you exclaimed, quickly shoving your feet into a pair of loosely laced sneakers and running out the door before she forced you to tell her the truth.
The address Shoto had sent you wasn't that far from your house, so you decided to walk. It was closer to the centre of town, built out of a sleek, white material. The building had large, tinted windows and was surrounded by an iron fence dotted with many types of flowers and shrubs. You were slightly early, so rather then going in, you took a seat on a small, wooden bench outside as you waited for Shoto. Above you was a large cherry blossom tree, though it was out of season, so it was abandoned of any blooms.
Before long, Shoto came around the corner, dressed in a pair of dark jeans, a white v neck t-shirt, and a blue button up with the sleeves rolled back to his elbows.
"Hey Shoto! You ready for this?" you exclaimed, leaping up from the bench and tilting your head.
"I think so. I'm just hoping I made the right connections here," he nodded, turning and walking towards the building with his hands in his front pockets, and you following behind.
"You and me both," you mumbled, entering the hospital.
It was fairly large on the inside, the walls lined with some padded chairs and the occasional painting. There weren't many people though, only around three visitors and four or five ladies behind the desk.
They were each fairly young, probably around their early thirties, still with youthful, kind faces. Shoto approached the desk, signing the both of you in as you stood back, looking around the room. Unlike the regular hospitals you'd been in to receive treatments for your injuries, this one smelled fresh. There was no suffocating scent of bleach or cleaning products, and people weren't hurrying around in a crazed panic. It was calm, and quiet, and seemed more like a large home then a hospital.
