"For the last time! My old man's got nothing to do with i-"Shoto was stopped mid sentence as he was hit by a thick liquid, which was shot from one of the henchmen's weapons. You ducked as an attack was shot towards you as well. Placing your hands on the ground, you dug your fingers into the ground, and drew up and earthen prison around the attacker so he could no longer move.
As soon as he was secured, you turned around and booked it towards where Shoto was lying on the ground. The liquid had already hardened around his right side. It was cement, you recognized it immediately. You could remove it, but only if you caught a break from the attacks Gang Orca was throwing at you. But they were consistent, not to mention the henchmen.
"This is outrageous. I can't believe you're arguing," Gang Orca exclaimed as his men immediately started rapped firing towards you. Together with Shoto, you drew up a protective wall of ice and rock to protect yourselves from the attacks.
"Shoto, I can remove the cement. Just hold on."
"No," he said as you reached your hand out. "Don't make this easy for me."
"This has everything to do...with your cold blooded father. To me, hero's should be full of passion. They bring hope and inspiration to people, with the fire burning in their hearts! They care!" Inasa exclaimed from above as he flew around, dodging the cement attacks. "It was a shock to meet your father. Because the only thing I could see in his eyes was an insatiable anger aimed at the entire world. And then...at the entrance exam, I saw you. And I knew who you were immediately. Because when I said hello...your eyes were the same as his."
You froze, looking up at the boy who rejected his application to UA, according to your homeroom teacher. Clearly something had happened between the two that Shoto didn't remember, and Inasa had a bad interaction with Endeavour. You knew first hand that the new number one hero wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, but to take it out on his son? What in earth was going on here?
"You think we're the same? Don't be ridiculous. You're a fool. I'm nothing like him," Shoto responded in a tone as cold as his ice, narrowing his eyes at the boy above. The look on his face was nothing like you'd ever seen before, even from Bakugo. There was something unsettling about it, like he was trying with every fibre of his being to suppress something that he'd been hiding for so long. Something he tried to control, but couldn't.
"You and your father are the only hero's I can't accept! You don't deserve the title! NOW MOVE!"
As Inasa shot a blast of wind at Gang Orca, Shoto shot another wing of fire, the quirks directly opposing each other. It reminded you of how you were when you first tried to use two elements at once. They would often work against each other, feeling as if they were tearing your body apart from the inside. You had to learn to mould them together, to find ways to make them work together if you ever wanted to master your quirk. Perhaps it was the same for these two...if they wanted to pass the test, they had to find a balance between them. A middle ground.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" Inasa yelled as his wind forced Shoto's flames in the directions of Shindo's exhausted body. The boy was still paralyzed on the ground though, likely unable to move as an after affect of his quirk. He couldn't dodge. You leapt forwards as fast as you could, doing your best to pull the flames back. Then, out of nowhere, Midoriya leapt in front of the flames you were trying so hard to restrain, grabbing Shindo and rushing out of the way just in time.
