Green Day - Wake Me up When September Ends •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
November 1995
"Evangeline! Wake up! We're late" Pansy shook Evangeline up, she reluctantly opened her eyes to see Pansy jumping around the dorm putting a sock onto her left foot.
"What time is it?" Evangeline brought her hands to her eyes and rubbed them hard, causing little stars to appear behind her lids.
"8:30!" Pansy was running around like a mad woman, applying lipstick with one hand and straightening her hair with the other.
"Oh shit" Evangeline jumped out of bed and began brushing her hair as she sleepily made her way over to the mirror. She pulled her frizzy hair into a tight pony tail which trailed down her back and threw on her uniform and robes. There wasn't time for makeup so she found her black rounded glasses at the bottom of her bedside table and placed them onto the bridge of her nose. She felt better once they were on her face as she wasn't wearing any makeup today so they concealed more of her skin. The season was beginning to change so she pulled on some knee high socks paired with heeled brogues, took one look at herself in the mirror before running out the dorm with Pansy. The common room was empty meaning everyone was already at breakfast. We only had til 9 o'clock to eat and be at class. Potions was first with Slughorn so being late wasn't a choice, he didn't care for tardiness. This would be our first potions lesson, Slughorn was always away for the first few weeks of term doing some research'for academic purposes' of course.
"You two overslept" Theo tutted, Evangeline looked down at his plate, he had finished his breakfast.
"No shit" Evangeline replied, taking a seat. Theo made eye contact with her. This made her slightly uncomfortable as her checks burned with self consciousness.
"You look like a sexy receptionist this morning Evangeline" he raised his eyebrows up at her, wetting his lips subtly.
"Let's not discuss your fantasies at breakfast Nott, you'll put people off their breakfast" Evangeline sighed grabbing an apple from the middle of the table, Draco grabbing one next to hers. Their fingers slightly brushed against one another as they pulled away.
"No you're doing that all by yourself" Nott's foot met Evangeline's underneath the table and brought it slightly up her calf, she kicked him away furrowing her eyebrows at him. Just as Theo opened his mouth to say something else Dumbledore approached the podium, which was unusual, the hall became silent.
"I'd like to make an announcement. This castle will be home to some very special guests this year! Hogwarts has been chosen to be the host of this years Triwizard Tournament. This tournament brings three schools together to compete in a series of magical challenges. One student will represent each school in these events, but I must warn you, this is not for the faint of heart. More on that later... Firstly let me introduce you to the lovely ladies of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and their headmistress Madame Maxine!" He raised his hands, opening the doors to the Great Hall.
