Biffy Clyro — Many of Horror ••••••••••••••••••••••
Evangeline woke to the sound of whispering and hushed voices around her. It was her birthday which traditionally meant everyone would cram into one another's dorms and wake them up by singing to them. Which Evangeline hated. She kept her eyes closed knowing they were creeping closer and closer to her bed. She wondered if Draco was there with them, the two had barely spoken a sentence to each other in the past few weeks and just about managed to push through potions without arguing.
"Will you be quiet?" Pansy hissed at Theo as they edged closer and closer to Evangeline fast asleep in her bed.
"Sorry I'm hungry" Theo placed his hand on his stomach and widened his eyes at the others.
"One, two, three" Benjamin whispered.
Evangeline opened her eyes startled by fireworks flying around her room and confetti hurtling towards her. She screamed as she tucked herself under her covers to avoid the sparks.
"Happy Birthday!" They all shouted and jumped on top of her pushing her further into the mattress.
"Can't breathe under here" Evangeline pushed someone off her, pulling the duvet down around her waist.
"Happy Birthday" Benjamin jumped into bed with her and wrapped his arm around her waist. He pulled her on top of him and wrapped his arms around her shaking her side to side "I love you"
"Maybe we should leave you two alone" Draco's voice sent shivers down Evangeline's spine. She hadn't seen him initially but now she knew he was in fact here.
Benjamin placed her back down and pulled out a small box from under his arm "I know we usually do presents later but open this now"
Evangeline scanned her eyes across the room, the others had now all sat on her bed apart from Draco who was stood against the bedpost. She opened the box and picked up the gift, it was a beautifully bound sage green notebook and Evangeline thought it looked very expensive.
"We thought you might be running out of space in your other one" Theo smiled and winked at her.
"It's beautiful" she clutched the notebook between her hands "thank you so much"
"Now come on, let's go, we have breakfast in Hogsmeade to get to" Blaise sprung from the bed giving Pansy a kiss on the cheek. Evangeline was lucky enough that her birthday fell on a Saturday this year but would have preferred to be occupied by classes. The thought of having to spend all day celebrating her birthday felt exhausting already and she hadn't left her bed yet.
