Dear Kitty

I'm sorry it's been so long, I just couldn't face writing to you. I could use you right now, more than ever. You were right when you told me how important friends were, sometimes more than family. I've felt that more this past month than I ever have. Yes I lost a love but I've been able to appreciate the people around me more. Some days I'm able to get through without thinking about him, others are hard, to say the least. So Kitty could you say hi to Cedric for me. Anyway, I'll leave you.

Love and miss you.
Your Evangeline.

Evangeline shut her notebook and left the dormitory, Pansy had already left for breakfast half an hour earlier. Just as she was about to leave there was a knock at her door.

"Yes?" She opened the door.

Draco stood with his robes on and his hair neat "you missed breakfast?"

"Not hungry" she smiled and closed the door behind her.

"Where are you going?" Draco followed behind her as she made her way into the common room.

"Class?" She laughed.

"Oh" Draco shook his head "of course"

"Morning" Benjamin smiled.

"Morning you" Evangeline ruffled his hair as she slid her arm underneath his.

"It's your birthday month" Benjamin kissed her cheek.

"Birthday month" Evangeline laughed "I don't think I can qualify for that when my birthday is literally the last day of this month"

"Yes you can, there's a house party tonight, that can be part of your first celebration" Benjamin wiggled his eyebrows.

"Hmm" Evangeline hummed.

"Come on Ev, it'll be fun" Theo smiled widely.

"I'll think about it" Evangeline replied "now come on, we can't be late for Moody"

"When it comes to the Dark Arts, I believe in a practical approach" Moody begins "but first, which of you can tell me how many unforgivable curses there are?"

Pansy turned to Evangeline with a tense expression on her face and held her hand tightly. This was the only class Pansy and Evangeline sat together and she couldn't be more grateful in that moment.
