"What is up with him?" Pansy looked over to Theo who was sat alone in the corner of the common room. He had occupied an old brown leather chair which faced the window into the Black Lake for over two hours, not saying a word, not moving an inch.
"Someone should go and talk to him" Evangeline suggested looking around at the others.
"Or we could respect the fact he doesn't want to talk to anyone and leave him alone" Draco muttered flicking through a copy of The Daily Prophet.
"You don't think he is acting completely out of character?" Pansy crossed her brows at Draco.
"No, I don't" Malfoy shrugged, not even slightly concerned about his friends recent behaviour.
"Come on Malfoy" Blaise stood up and leaned against the fireplace "they're right, that is not normal" he pointed at Theo.
Theo suddenly stood up and began walking with his head down, hands into his pockets past the others and towards the common room door.
"Where you headed mate?" Blaise piped up.
Theo stopped and turned sharply "some fresh air"
"We'll come, won't we?" Benjamin stood up and looked around.
"No" Theo snapped "I'm just going to take a walk, on my own"
Benjamin nodded and sat back down. The common room door closed shut and silence fell between the six of them. The crackling fire was the only noise Evangeline could focus on. Theo's face ran through her mind, he looked as though he had lost weight or hadn't slept since they got back to Hogwarts.
Evangeline stood up "I'm going to go and speak to him"
"I don't think that's a good idea, Ev, he said he wanted to be alone" Elijah looked up at her concerned.
"Well sometimes you think you do, but you don't" she said and stood up leaving the others back in their silence.
Evangeline tried to think where Theo would head to. Not the Black Lake, she'd never seen him there before. She checked the courtyards but they were empty too. After 15 minutes of searching she gave up and planted herself on the grass by the clocktower.
"Astronomy Tower" a voice startled her.
"What?" Evangeline looked up at Draco who was leaning against the stone wall above her.
