Tame Impala -
Feels like we only go backwards

The second task of the tournament was that morning, followed by the Slytherin v Gryffindor quidditch match. Breakfast was busy, everyone stuffing their faces for the long day ahead. Evangeline had been awake for hours, she couldn't sleep, the thought of the challenge playing on her mind. Cedric was still worried as he hadn't fully figured out the clue hidden inside the golden egg. However Evangeline had left him late in the library last night with Neville discussing Gillyweed and if it's properties would help him. The only information they knew for certain was that it began at 10am at the Black Lake. Evangeline fiddled with her fingers under the table, growing more anxious by the second.

"So is the after party still in the common room tonight?"  Elijah asked as he tucked into his bacon and pancakes.

"Pretty sure it is, no matter if we win or not" Blaise shrugged.

"We're going to win" Draco scoffed and rolled his eyes from the opposite side of the table. Her and Evangeline hadn't spoken since the incident in the common room last night, the others tried to forget about it but the tension was still there, it made them uncomfortable but Evangeline didn't care.

"I wouldn't be so sure, I hear Ginny Weasley is quite a force on her broom" Evangeline took a bite from a piece of toast Benjamin had tossed onto her plate. Draco's eyes narrowed as his jaw clenched slightly but he didn't respond, instead his eyes fell to a book he was holding. Evangeline tried to make out what it was but she couldn't see from where she was sitting.

"I'd definitely hit that" Theo chimed in.

Pansy scoffed and began showing Evangeline her freshly painted black nails, then moved onto what her and Blaise had been up to. She sat and listened to her talk about him for over ten minutes, her eyes flicked up to Draco every now and then. His eyes were following along the lines of whatever was written in that book, the cover was black, no name. He held it in one hand, the other was gripping a cup of black coffee, the steam was floating above the cup. He brought the cup up to his lips and took a small sip, the liquid clearly very hot but this didn't seem to faze him. He shut the book and stood up from the table "meet you at the lake" he muttered to Blaise.

"Evangeline" a soft hand rested on Evangeline's shoulder "a minute?" Cedric. Evangeline followed him out of the hall, turning back she saw Pansy waving her hands around in the air discussing something with the others, clearly about Cedric and Evangeline. She hasn't mastered the art of subtlety. Hopefully they were being more supportive after my outburst last night.
