Hidden In Plain Sight
Princess Adrianna
The cabin was cute and cozy, but it was buried deep in the woods for my safety. It sat between the two realms, just at the boarder. I chose this place as I was a child of both light and dark. I wanted to see both cultures of the realms play out and unfold before me. Although I am here on a mission, I looked at is a research expedition. Meeting people, learning how they lived, and how they presented their cultures. I found this to be important to know my people being the next Goddess.
I strive to be a great Goddess and it starts now, while I am still a Princess and in training. By gathering such data and experiences I could better understand the world around me and how certain problems effected packs daily. By doing this I could assess the problem and approach in the best way possible that favors all parties.
Sadly, that wasn't my mission, even though I wish it was. It seems much more interesting than what I have been assigned. Take down the Death Alpha before he causes too much destruction that is unfixable. Basically I have to either kill him or extract some of his powers to weaken him. By weakening him he won't hold as much power that he uses to reign with terror, he won't be able to gain so much land anymore. Even some land may be retuned to the rightful packs. It'll also weaken his pack so they can't fight as savagely in combat and in general lower his standings in the realm. As of right now he is much more powerful than the King, he sits right under the divine family with the amount of power he holds. Which is a threat, a great threat at that.
This is unacceptable, it is dangerous for one to have this much power. My mother fears he may be trying to over throw her and become the King of all wolves. This is dangerous to give this insane man that much power. He'll cause the population to go into extinction with his spontaneous and reckless actions.
The cabin was a two story with a wrap around porch and a swing on the porch. It was a beautiful place with a groomed greenery and plants out front with a stone wall protecting them. The inside had a cozy inside as well with a wood burning stove.
Whispering an old chant my mother taught me, I masked the structure so it looked like the woods surrounding it. No one will be able to find it because of this masking spell. It's literally none existent to the naked and untrained eye unless you are standing right in front of the mask. It's an illusion trick for someone to think it's just woods and no structure. If someone is to try and walk through the force field they'll be burnt or killed. Either or. Depends on the persons strength.
"Have you gotten settled," my mother mind links to me.
"I have," I respond.
"Did you mask the cabin," she asks.
"I did."
"Wonderful. Now remember your mission. I'll be available whenever you need to contact me for advise or help. Just one mind link away. Your father will be available as well."
"Thank you."
"We all are counting on you."
Talk about being blunt.
For the next hour I settled in, putting away clothes, setting up the bathroom, and putting the food I brought away in the fridge. Truly I had nothing to worry about, so I didn't understand why my wolf was on the edge. She was pacing and whimpering, she was mumbling something I couldn't make out. Instead, I continued to make my dinner.
Before I came to earth my tutor taught me how to be a normal werewolf. I was taught how to cook and clean and I actually quite enjoyed cooking. In the days before I was sent down here I was always in the kitchen with the cooks. I learned new recipes from them and cooked beside them as well.
Speaking of my tutor he sent me with some books so I could continue my education and keep busy while I waited for the perfect time. He also asked me to keep a journal of all my journeys and other miscellaneous things I may learn here on earth. Mom was excited about this journal since she wanted to know more about her people and their cultures and practices as well.
She must be nervous about this sudden change and the weight on our shoulders, I thought.
Then her nose perked up and her ears did as well. Alert. Surely the Death pack was near by, but why? I mean yeah they were looking for me, but if they are to cross over the boarder of the two realms without security clearance they can be in big trouble. It is a law of the two realms to keep unwanted packs out, for example the Death Pack as the are trouble. You need a reasonable excuse to cross or else they don't. This is the Death Alpha's fault actually. It is to keep everyone safe in this part of the realm. Without clearance he can't pass over unless it is illegal or not caught. Obviously if he trying to cross over with his warriors he'll be caught.
Fear immediately surged through my body. Did he cross the boarder just to find me? Also how did he know my exact location and that I arrived here on earth? All these questions swarmed my head and right before my eyes I see the protective shield come down. My legs felt weak and I didn't know what to do. I was consumed by my fear, I was never prepared for a direct attack from him and so quickly.
A loud roar erupts and my ears start to ring from the loud boom. Flames. The house was caught aflame and the heat was suffocating. Was this my end? My end is at the hands of the Death Alpha.
