Princess Adrianna

"She hates me," I admit.

Octavius shakes his head about to reassure me, but is cut off by Levi's howling laugh. "She does," he agrees.

"Levi, you aren't helping," Octavius growls in a pinched tone at his Beta. Then turns his head to me. "She does not."

He just shrugs.

"Blunt, very blunt," I add.

He winks. "Anything for you, Luna."

Octavius was just shaking his head as he led us to his office. I've never been in his office before. It was an average sized room with a few book shelves on the side wall. Those shelves were packed with books and records. On the wall we entered through was a fireplace stocked with wood. It had a cute little sitting area in front of it with a couch and two arm chairs and a coffee table. His desk sat against the other wall, it was large and covered in papers. Beside it was another stack of books and a little waste bin. Behind the desk was a portrait. The curtains were drawn shut and the lights were dimmed a little.

"Adrianna," Octavius calls from the little sitting area.

"Sorry," I reply sheepishly.

I go to sit down next to him on the couch but he pulls me into his lap. His nose nuzzling at my neck. As a low purr leaves my throat he responds with a deeper growl. His hold on me tightening and pressing me further into his chest.

"Okay, can we talk about the situation at hand? Seriously this is an important situation and you can't keep it in your pants for just five minutes. Horny fucker," Levi barks.

Octavius drags his gaze from where he was eyeing my mark. "Sorry, I can't help it," he says innocently.

"Oh, I know. We are werewolves, we have the hearing of wolves. So, I can hear you very clearly."

I felt the familiar burn of a blush reach to the tip of my ears as I look at the Beta.

Octavius rubs my arm. "It is okay, it is completely natural. No need to be embarrassed."

"I'm- I'm not embarrassed, I'm just shocked he didn't hesitate saying that."

They both laugh at me.

"I hate the both of you."

"No you don't," Octavius counters and kisses the nape of my neck.

"Anyways, we need to talk about your mother and this uprising," Levi starts.

I sigh. His mom sending Racheal to the pack to try and win him back. I feel like this is apart of a bigger plan. That his mother has bigger plans. That they want to some how control Octavius. They are power hungry and she knows if she loses her hold over her son, she loses her power.

Octavius most likely has figured it out and is ignoring it.

"I just don't understand why my mom would send Racheal. She knows how I feel about her. How she hurt me and how bad the rejection was. Her rejection led to our exposers and our murders. Why is she so friendly with our murder? I don't know. I don't understand."

"I mean in her eyes she may see Racheal as a better mate for you than Adrianna. A traitor or someone the view as a monster. Even though it was her husband, Adrianna's father who brought them back," Levi tacks on.

Octavius huffs and plops his chin on my shoulder. "If this was the old me I'd still pick Adrianna. If it wasn't for Racheal I wouldn't have had to die at the hands of those people. That horrible death. Yes, mine was bad, but mom was burned alive since she was female. Father and I were hung."

"I still don't understand why she would think she even had a chance," I mumble.

"Because she most likely thought she could make me leave you. That if she made it seem like I had a chance with her that I would run back to her, but I am not. She is an idiot and now that we are fully mated that will never happen. If someone tries to destroy our bond we'll probably both die in the removal process."

A shiver went down my spine. I don't know if it was out of fear or how deep my feelings for him have gotten, but goosebumps arose all across my skin. Our bond has become so strong that we'll both die if the other does and it just does something to someone. That our bond is that strong that we'd rather die than live another day without each other. That is what we've become and I don't regret it.

That within in these few short hours our bond has become unbreakable. That we grow powerful individually and bonded every second we spend together. That by me healing him made our bond that much stronger.

"Well, it is clear we can't trust your mother," I point out the obvious.

Octavius's grip tightens on my hip. "She wouldn't hurt me."

"I'm talking about me, Octavius." I give him a pointed look

"She won't hurt you. She knows if she hurts you, she'll have to deal with me. She knows if she hurts you it'll hurt me. She knows where I have drawn the line. I will kill her if she does something to you. I won't hesitate for a moment. That yes, I may be her son, but you come first."

I simply nod.

I know he'll kill for me. He's done it before. Even if it is his own mother, he'll do it again. Her life is in hands, he decides when she goes. After all he is the one who negotiated to bring her back from the afterlife.

"But she's your mother," Levi reminds.

Octavius shrugs. "I don't care. She's been dead before, she can die again. And that all my in control. I can raise my mother from the dead again, but as stated, if Adrianna dies I'll follow. Therefore I can't bring her back and vise versa."

His hands were sliding up and down my hip to my waist. He was doing this unconsciously. Yet, I found it calmed me down during this situation that we have found ourselves in.
