Princess
Alpha Octavius
The mage bites her lip and fire leaves her palm, setting the cabin on fire. The fire rages immediately and consumes the structure. The front door flies open and the female stumbles out, coughing on the smoke. Her eyes shut and an arm in front of her protecting her. Instead of fighting us, she drops to the porch with a thud. Unconscious.
I shrug at my warriors and scoop up the female, allowing the cabin to collapse in on itself. It's a smoldering pile of debris when we leave and has a particular scent to it. One I am all too familiar with, the burning of a house.
"Let's go," I tell and motion them back to the boarder.
They follow behind me the wind blowing the smoke to follow us. Passing through the boarder force field, the cold air immediately hits us and the small female in my arms shivers.
I groan knowing very well if she isn't covered soon she won't make it in these temperatures and I want her alive when I return to my pack. I cover her in a thick blanket I had brought with us and head back towards my packs territory.
"Alpha, what shall we do with the female," my Beta Levi asks.
"She'll be placed in a cell under high surveillance and her powers will be restrained with a silver collar," I inform him.
Levi nods. "But what about the Moon Goddess?"
I look at him. "Yes, what about her?"
"Don't you think she'll come and try to save or bail her daughter out?"
I shake my head. "She would've done so by now. Her destiny is playing out how the Goddess has planned it to."
He nods his head, defeated.
For the first time in my life, my wolf was at ease and not angry at the world. For a moment I was confused why, but I pretty much figured out why and that is because the threat of the Moon Princess is gone and she is our prisoner. That is what soothed him, knowing we had her in our grasps and not out possibly ruining my life.
The threat was gone and now my pack could rest and not fear becoming homeless or being relocated. My pack would finally feel relief and calmness in which they haven't felt in years. There will never be another threat as dangerous as her. Besides, who would wage such a war with the Death Alpha? An idiot, that's who.
"Here take her, you know what to do," I tell and hand off the Princess to Levi.
"Yes, Alpha," he responds and takes her from me.
I watch him head towards the underground prison with the Princess. I sigh, but not one which is in defeat but one in relief.
I'm going to have to address this with my pack, but not now. Not until she is secured and confirmed she is the princess. When she wakes up I'll be the first one down there to question her on her identity and plans. I'll announce such after she surrender to me, this is only customary. Once she pledges her surrender she won't be seen as an enemy or a threat, but a prisoner of the Death Pack.
Until then I am going to go back to bed and hopefully she is awake in the morning. Yet, as we moved farther away from the Princess, my wolf was protesting. His howls echoed in my head and his urge to take over was strong, but I was stronger. Eventually he gave up and he too went to sleep. Why is he acting so rash, it's just another female. She wants to take our hard work away, I tried to make him stop but he kept fighting.

The following morning I got up to a heavy snowstorm, this is the normal weather for this time of year. As we do see the sun and feel the warmth of spring and summer it only lasts for a short period of time. After all we are the darker side of the realm and it is expected for it to be cold and dreary.
Breakfast was served and I quickly ate since my Beta had gotten word she woke up and that she wasn't in a good mood. Perfect.
My feet crunched under the snow as I made my way to the cell she was being kept in. Levi already stood at the entrance of the prison waiting for my arrival.
"What is the update on the Princess, Beta Levi," I ask.
"Well, as you heard she isn't in a good mood," he tells.
"How do we know this?"
"Let's just say when they were trying to serve her breakfast she attacked them," he laughs nervously.
"Wonderful."
Just great. She isn't supposed to be a threat now, but how can I not oversee that as a threat. She threatened a pack member the exact opposite I was hoping for. I was hoping for her to be cooperative so she can at least maintain what dignity she has left. Surly if this gets out it won't be good for her, since my pack will still see her as a threat.
We stood before her cell the scent blood still hung heavy in the air and sharp piercing eyes glowed in the corner. They were not the eyes of a human, but the eyes of her wolf.
"Open the cell," I bark.
"But, Alpha," a guard protests.
"I am the Death Alpha. I can take on a measly female."
He sighs and listens to my command and opens the cell and shuts it behind me. My wolf once again howled out something was up with him when he is around this female. I squat down and look at the female before me. She came out the shadows a little. I could see her long silver hair was knotted and there was a visible flesh wound from the silver collar around her neck. Although she was dirty and covered in soot and most likely ash I could still see her features. Her face wasn't too long or too short that ended in a rounded of point. Yet it wasn't too round. Her cheeks where filled out, but her cheek bones defined. As for her nose it was small and skinny. Her long lashes seemed to be clumped together, most likely from crying or the soot. She had an unworldly beauty to her.
Her sapphire eyes glowed and she lunges for me. Her nails extended and her canines out. Obviously her wolf was in control, just protecting herself. She didn't know what was about to happen. She was definitely a fighter since the collar should be burning her. It should be doing such since it's supposed to keep her wolf down and in control, so it can't surface. She's strong and determined I'll give her that. As her wolf is present and this collar doesn't seem to phase her.
I simply dodge her attack and grab for her. I jump at the sudden feeling of sparks erupting when I touch her forearm. She lets out a yelp at the sudden feeling.
The Death Alpha isn't supposed to have a mate.
Mates. She attempts to move out of arms reach. Now having this knowledge, I wrap my arms around her waist and force her into my lap and press her head into my neck. Making sure she gets a good smell of my scent. Her body relaxes in my hold.
"Feisty little one, aren't you," I chuckle.
