Uninvited Guests
Alpha Octavius
I felt a great sense of pride when I marked and mated my female. As I was holding Adrianna, I could feel our bond strengthening. Her face nuzzled deep in my chest. The sun was high in the sky though, so I didn't sleep. I couldn't sleep. I wasn't tried, as for a matter of fact I was energized and wide awake. Yet, I let my mate lay in my arms and sleep. Her scent was now combined with mine as mine was with hers. If that didn't signify she was mine the mark definitely did. Apollo became as protective and possessive as ever.
The pack didn't know because she surrounded herself within the pack bond with a wall, a tall and thick wall. The old magic her mother taught her to conceal her position within in the pack bond worked. Only I knew she was Luna and we'll be keeping it that way until it is safe to announce it.
While she slept I just laid there beside her. Watching her, holding her. Apollo was extremely pleased with me as I finally completed the mating process and claimed her. Now he'll finally leave me alone about marking her, but about mating her, that will be a new issue. The horny fucker he is.
For a while it was bliss just laying there with my arm draped around her waist while she was using my other as a pillow and listening to her steady breathing. Key word, was. I was in my own little world and I didn't realize Levi was trying to mind link me. I was so out of it I didn't realize he was trying to get a hold of me.
'What is it, Levi,' I growl.
'Sorry to bother you, but an uninvited guest has welcomed themself into the fortress. We need help,' Levi tells.
'What!'
'Yes and he brought some extra company along with him and he is heading towards your wing.'
Carefully I slid out of Adrianna's grasp and hope I don't wake her before shifting into my wolf. I take one last look at her sleeping form before exiting our bedroom. I tip my head to the two warriors that were posted at my door. One being Brooklyn, so I'm assuming she is already aware of Adrianna's return.
My large wolf stalks down the hallway in search of this uninvited guest and his friends. I let out a low snarl and my hairs stand once I spot the intruder. His eyes were glowing in the shadows and I could see he was ready to pounce. Not letting him make the first move I pounce at him.
My jaws grabbing him by the neck and pulling him into the light. The light brown wolf let out a cry feeling how deep my canines were sinking into his skin. I release the wolf but not before I throw him across the hall. His body sliding to a stop blood streaks following. I stand over his body and snarl at him.
He rolls onto his back under me and takes a quick swipe where ever he can land it. Which happened to be my eye.
Fuck.
He tries to push me off of him with his hind legs, but I wasn't budging. I wanted him and his group alive, but now? I swipe at his chest before getting off of him and pace around him waiting for him to regain his footing.
My sight was all fucked up now. I wasn't landing attacks and my dodging was screwed up to. I let out a huff, my body hurting and my eye was throbbing. Blood was oozing out of it and most likely infected since we were rolling around on the floor.
Out of the corner of my eye Levi finally shows up with backup. One person still in their human body simply shots him with a tranquilizer. Levi quickly returns to his human body before coming to my side.
"Alpha, your eye," Levi states the obvious.
Growling, I return to my human skin. The injury was much more prominent and visible in my human skin. It hurt more, so much more. For some reason it wasn't healing as fast as usual.
"We need to get you to the hospital, Alpha. It's going to get infected and they might need to remove it," he explains. "It isn't healing, therefore his scratch may have contained something else like silver or poison."
"I am aware. I need to tell my mate first so she doesn't think I left her!"
"Alpha, that isn't a good idea. You may expose it to more germs. More possible infections."
"No," I hiss. "I need to let Adrianna know first."
Levi huffs in annoyance before summoning the man who tranquilized the wolf. He opens his first aid kit cleaning my eye the best he could before covering it with a bandage.
I head to my bedroom to find Adrianna sitting up with the blanket around her upper half. Her eyes wide and scared.
"Octavius," she squeaks. Her eyes taking a moment to adjust before landing on my injury. "What happen to you? Oh Goddess, get over here!"
I tread cautiously to her and sit on the edge of the bed.
"I'm sorry about leaving you," I mumble. "I must not have made a great first impression. Leaving you after we first mate and all."
She shakes her head. "Nonsense. I understood what was going on. I knew you needed to leave urgently and attend to important matters. No harm done."
She carefully removes the bandage making me flinch a little when the medical tape comes off. Her hands cup my cheeks and one of my hands found it's way to her hand on my cheek, holding it. She closes her eyes for a moment and starts whispering something I couldn't understand. A blinding white aura surrounds her and her hair starts to float a little. When she opens her eyes they are the same blinding white of her aura. My hand and jaw drop in surprise.
I heard the sound of the soft click of the door closing and I could smell some familiar scents enter.
Her one hand remains cupping my face while the other goes to my right eye. It starts to glow white as well when she covers it. The sensation was something along the lines of a warm but stinging in pain. I grit my teeth trying to hold in any noises of pain and discomfort.
Once the sensation stops and she pulls her hands away from my face her white aura disappears and her eyes go back to normal.
"There, all healed," she confirms. "But there is a scar." She traces it softly.
I sigh, just another one added to my collection.
"Thank you, Adrianna."
She nods with a smile and now she finally notices the guests in our room. She awkwardly waves to them and pulls the blanket closer to her body. I remember she's naked and cover her body with my own, crushing her into me. They turn around and I retrieve a robe for her, so that she may greet our guests.
"So Octavius, you finally mated her," Levi observes, cockily.
"And marked," I proudly add.
"Yet, I can't feel her in the pack bond. Why is that?"
"She has some spell up so that she can't be felt until the pack is ready."
"Understandable."
The doctor was more intrigued by her healing abilities. He kept inspecting my eye and asking Adrianna questions. Telling us he's never seen this type of magic used and healing someone with such a severe injury so well.
