Breakfast

Princess Adrianna

Although many would be distributed or worried by hearing screams throughout the fortress early in the morning. I wasn't phased. Although it was a shock as I never have heard such distress this is the Death Pack after all and the Alpha is awake. He is most likely handing out a punishment and the person isn't happy with it and is scared of said punishment.

Once the screaming protests died down I carried on with my day with applying the healing cream and got dressed before heading downstairs. It seems Octavius had someone go get some clothes for me last night. Enough clothes for now, now is until I can go out shopping safely.

The fortress although it was busy with maids and butlers there were no chefs. Luckily my mother taught me how to cook, since she knew I'd be on my own for awhile.

While making my breakfast a scent enters the kitchen, his scent. My body freezes up a little and my wolf cries out, giving him our undivided attention.

"What are you up to, Princess," The Alpha asks.

"Making breakfast and what are you up to," I retort.

He snickers. "Watching my feisty little mate make breakfast. Hopefully she made enough to share."

I shake my head catching onto his playfulness. "I did, I did."

"Wonderful, because if you didn't I'd have to eat something else."

My eyes widen at the sudden suggestion and I feel my cheeks redden. "Uh- I made French toast, eggs, and the bacon is in the oven so it stays warm."

"Sounds good." He pursuers his lips and asks, "have you applied the cream to your burn this morning?"

I nod. "I did."

Satisfied, he states, "yeah, it's looking much better, Princess."

I nod, again. "Do you even know my name," I ask, but I couldn't help but laugh.

He nods. "Yes, Adrianna."

"May I ask why you call me Princess then?"

"Respect? It's cute and endearing too, but do you know mine?"

I nod. "Of course, Octavius."

There is a low rumble from Octavius. "I like when you say my name."

And yet the stain of blush on my face has yet to die down.

It was odd how casual he was being right after most likely sentencing someone to death. Then again he is desensitized to this stuff as it's been his life for centuries. Obviously sending someone to their death wouldn't bother him as it's his lifestyle. As for me, I don't think I'd be able to do that. I have compassion and I am sensitive to death. I'd most likely would take it hard if I was responsible for someone's death.

"So do you have any plans for today," I ask.

He shakes his head. "Nope, just hanging out and getting to know my female better."

When my old mate would claim me as his female it'd make butterflies erupt in my stomach. This isn't the same effect I get from Octavius. I can see his excitement with having a mate and I don't want to ruin that. You'd think I'd want to feel something after my first pairing wasn't a success, but that isn't it.

I guess I never had closure and haven't gotten over my previous mate. Maybe that is why I am having a hard time accepting this and feeling the same feelings that Octavius has for me. I can't deny the bond much longer as it's consuming me when he's near. Octavius knows this since whenever he is around he only amplifies the bond. He lets off his scent and allows his wolf to communicate with mine. This only strengths our wolves bond which makes ours stronger.

"I see," I tell and set the breakfast on the table.

He licks his lips. "Damn, this looks delicious and coming from a Princess is unbelievable."

"My mother taught me how to cook before I left since I wouldn't have a chef at my beck and call when I was in the cabin. It's only natural for my mother to teach me as I'd be on my own."

"Understandable."

The rest of breakfast was quiet as we both enjoyed our breakfast. He seemed ecstatic especially since it looks like he doesn't have a chef come to the house. I can only imagine how he cooked before I came along. Judging by how much he is eating and his eyes lighting up I'd say he wasn't a good cook.

I look up when I hear the clang on the fork hitting the plate and he cleans his face with the napkin.

"How tall are you," he asks out of the blue.

"About five four, five five-ish. Why," I ask.

"You'll be living here, so you need a cloak to keep yourself warm when you go outside."

"It's not that cold, there is no need to."

He raises and brow and laughs, "If I get cold from going outside you definitely will."

In all honesty I don't want gifts, I don't want to be here and I don't want to be his mate. I don't want gifts as it will have ties to him if something is to happen with this bond that he doesn't intend to happen, like breaking it off. I don't see myself doing that as it was a painful process, but I don't know what the future holds for me and it may have to happen. I don't want a reminder of him.

"I actually wanted to talk to you about something."

He nods. "Go ahead."

"I've heard of the horrible conditions my mother's moon temple is. I was wondering once I become Luna that could be one of my project I oversee?"

"That'd be wonder. I give you permission to do so."

"I'll just be cleaning it up and restoring it. Nothing else."

"I'll gladly give you the funds and I'll inform the pack elders so they aren't alarmed."

"Thank you, Octavius."

He nods inwardly.

Although I haven't been to the moon temple here I know for a fact it's in rough shape. As for my father's temple it is in great shape. I've seen it actually a few times, but I've never been inside it. I'll eventually step foot inside when I need to make contact with my parents. Considering his is the closest I'll obviously venture to his temple and not to my mothers. Her's is located outside the pack's territory but the Death Pack is still responsible for it.
