Chapter 14

A week has passed since the day I went to Sirius'. Severus wasn't happy about me randomly leaving but he's gotten over it. I've also been avoiding Draco because I just don't know what to do when I face him.

During classes I just ignore him and I've been spending my nights either at DA meetings or in my room. But I know that I will eventually have to face him sooner or later.

It's currently past curfew and Draco and the others are all still on patrol. I decided that I was going to sneak up to the astronomy tower to clear my head and figure out what to do about Draco.

I'm just one more hall away from the last set of stairs that leads to the tower and I just have to get past Draco and Pansy. They are talking but I can't hear a word that they are saying. My heart dropped though when I heard him laugh at something she said. I don't know why it did but it did.

They finally turned a corner and I took my chance to get to the stairs. I quickly went down the corridor and made my way up the stairs of the tower. Once I got to the top I took a deep breath and sat on the edge leaning on the bottom railing. I looked out at the view and was amazed at the beauty of it under the full moon.

It's the beginning of February so it's still pretty cold outside and I wish I had brought a jumper but I forgot.

All of a sudden a jacket is placed around my shoulders scaring me. Then someone sat down next to me.

I refused to turn and see who it was but I already knew, I didn't need to look. We sat there in silence for a few seconds before I heard him sigh.

"Can you please talk to me. Why are you ignoring me?" Draco asked turning to me but I still refused to look at him. "What did I do Haley? Please talk to me. I can't take you ignoring me anymore." He begged.

"You didn't do anything." I told him.

"Then why are you ignoring me?" He was confused.

"I honestly don't even know."

"What's going on then?" He asked grabbing my hand.

"Is the reason you said Severus was an idiot at the Christmas ball because you think he shouldn't have brought me to a house full of Death Eaters?" I ask him.

He doesn't answer for a few seconds so I finally turn to look at him. He was surprised, that's for sure.

"So you know about my family then?" He asks.

"I didn't until I saw your aunt in the Daily Prophet with the others who escaped from Azkaban." I tell him.

"Haley, I know what you might be thinking. And I promise you I would never tell anyone about who you really are." He reassures me. "You are too important to me, I will do everything I can to protect you. Just like Snape is doing."

"I know. I was just scared." I tell him.

"I understand why. But I promise you I will always have your back love." He says pulling me into a hug.

"Thank you Draco." I said hugging him back.

"Of course."

"How did you know I was up here anyway?" I asked him letting go of our hug.

"I saw you walk past the corridor Parkinson and I were patrolling." He explained. "I told her to keep going and that I was going to check on something and came to find you up here in our usual spot."

"I had really needed to think and I didn't really know where else to go." I tell him.

"Well I'm glad you came up here so we could finally talk." He says as I give him a smile.

"I'm sorry for ignoring you. I shouldn't have."

"Don't worry about it. You had just learned about my family and you were scared and didn't know what to think or do." He says looking me in the eyes. "Just remember that no matter what I'm here for you okay."

"Okay." I smiled at him.

"Good. Now let's get you back to your dorm. It's cold up here." He said standing up then grabbed both of my hands to pull me up too.

The next morning I sat at the Slytherin table again with Draco. It had been awhile since I've sat here so there were a few people whispering about it.

"I see that the Slytherin Prince and Princess are no longer ignoring each other and are together again." Blaise said with a smirk sitting across from us.

"Piss off Zabini." Draco muttered, still eating his breakfast.

"The what and what?" I asked him confused.

"The Slytherin Prince and Princess." Blaise said but I was still confused. "You know, since Malfoy had been known as the prince since basically second year and you're the only girl he fancies, you're now the Slytherin Princess. Everyone agrees."

"I don't fancy anyone so you all are wrong." Draco said angrily which for some reason made me kind of sad.

"Yeah, sure you don't." Blaise still wasn't convinced. "I noticed you started wearing a new ring mate. Where'd you get it?" He pointed at the ring that I got Draco on his right hand. "And Haley, that's a beautiful heart charm bracelet. Where'd you get it?" He pointed to mine smirking.

Draco and I both look at each other for a second before going back to eating our breakfast.

"And I don't remember either of you wearing those before Christmas but now you guys never take it off." Blaise was still smirking.

"Okay, you've made your point. Can you stop now?" Draco was still angry at Blaise.

"Why is she sitting here?" Pansy asked as she sat down next to Blaise and across from Draco.

"Because our Slytherin royalty are back together so now everything can be happy in the kingdom again." Blaise was trying not to laugh at how mad Draco was getting.

"I was happier when they were fighting." Pansy glared at me.

Draco abruptly stood up and grabbed my arm to pull me up too.

"Come one, we're not staying." He said as he pulled me away.

Blaise had finally started laughing as we walked away. I then looked at the Gryffindor table to see some of my friends watching me get dragged out of the great hall.
