ch. 46: "moving out"

Tatiana's P.O.V

I woke up to darkness in my room, the moon was shining through the blinds and I heard laughter outside. I slowly got up to my feet, feeling a bit light-headed. When I opened the door, Luke and Michael's voices were heard, they were probably still gaming. I turned on the light in my room and closed the blinds and organized a few things.

- ding -

My phone made a buzz & I walked over to it to check who has messaged me.

hey we need to talk. - Cal

My heart stopped. Why did he want to talk now? There was nothing to talk about.

why?

we need to sort some things out.. If u dont wanna I totally understand - Cal

Okay. Where?'

I've missed hearing his voice. Something was being thrown and my window so I walk over to it, Calum was throwing some socks at my balcony.

"What are you doing here?!" I whisper-shouted down at him.

"We need to talk." he shrugged, setting down the basket of socks.

"Get up here then." I crossed my arms, he started climbing the house and my heart beated faster as he came closer to me.

"Hey." he panted as he walked over to me, but stopped five inches away.

"What are we going to talk about?" I asked with my arms still crossed.

"A hello Calum, how have you been would have been alot nicer!" he whined, putting his hands in his back pockets.

"Don't start." I gritted my teeth, becoming annoyed each second.

"Sorry, I wanted to talk about things.. Like- uhm, how have you been?" he smiled at me.

"I've been fine. What about you?" I sat down on the nearest chair and he did the same thing with the other chair.

"Well, our band is touring with One Direction in July! I'm super stoked about it. I also met the five of them, they were all really nice and their accents are pretty cool too!" he rambled about his good news, making me smile to myself.

"Oh that's nice to hear.." I smiled at him, and he nodded.

"It is isn't it? Anyways.. I- really think we should get a true DNA test.." Calum muttered under his breath.

"Why? We already have a paper proving we're related." I rolled my eyes.

"That paper could be fake!" he outraged, making me jump a little.

"Why would my father give us a fake DNA paper? Give me one reason Calum!"

"Someone must have accidentally put the wrong data! Or the doctor was drunk and put we're related for good times sake!" he continued on with his dumbfounded reasons making me have enough.

"Look Calum, if you just came here to throw socks at my balcony and ramble about Father lying to me then I don't want to talk." I stood up, heading back into my bedroom with Calum following behind me.

"No, I'm sorry Tati.. I shouldn't have pushed you too far." he sighed, fiddling with his hands.

"Do you really want to take that DNA test?" I questioned him.

"Yes." he quickly replied.

"Why? What's the reason?"

"Because I want to be able to love you." he looked up with teary eyes and my heart immediately melted.

"What if we're related?"

"Then I don't think I'd ever love anyone else like I have loved you.. We grew up together, went to different places together, we are two inseparable people! What would really hurt is to see you fall in love with a different person, but I'd eventually have to get over it." he hiccuped as he cried, and I gave up & rushed over to him, hugging him tightly around the waist, smelling his cologne that he's always had used.

"I missed you." I sighed, tears were falling down my face by now.

"I've missed you more.." he pulled away and kissed my forehead.

"I have to tell you something.." I bit my lip and pulled away from him completely, breaking the warmth & connection between us.

"What is it?" he sat on the edge of the bed and leaned forward on his knees, curious.

"I'm... I'm moving away soon." I choked out, obviously lying.

"Where?"

"To Los Angeles." I sat on the carpet, criss crossed.

"What? Why there? And why do you have to move? Do you really have to?" he questioned frantically and rushed over to me, sitting in front of me on the carpet.

"I want to go to college there.. And I feel like it's the right place for me." I lied once more, acting my best.

"Are you sure? Why don't you like it here? It's much more quiet and peaceful." he took my hand and played with it with his fingers.

"I just want to move away and I think the distance would be better for the both of us." I pulled away and setted my hand in my own lap.

"I love you." he randomly said.

The whole room fell silent and the door unlocked with someone walking in.

"Hey look who came by!" Michael cheered when he saw Calum.

Calum kept his back turned around to him as tears fell down his face, he quickly swiped them away and stood up to face Michael.

"What happened?" Michael asked, looking at Cal's face closely.

"Nothing." Calum replied bluntly and smiled at him.

"Oh, well your eyes are a bit red.. Did you smoke some?" Michael elbowed him.

"Michael." I eyed him and he backed up with his arms surrendering.

"Hey you're awake!" Luke came in, ignoring the fact that Calum was here.

"Yeah.. Obviously." I laughed awkwardly.

"I'm gonna go." Calum made his way out and slammed the door behind him.

"Oh Calum was here?" Luke questioned, dumbfounded.

"Obviously." Michael headed out the room also, leaving me and Luke alone.

"Have you told him yet? Was that why he was upset?" Luke asked frantically.

"No.. I don't plan on telling him anytime soon.." I sighed, running a hand through my hair.

"Okay good.. I don't think he would have taken the news in a good way if you did." he mumbled.

"Luke, I told him that I was moving to Los Angeles.." the words flew out my mouth.

"Really? Are you going to?' his eyes widened.

"Yeah.. I have to keep distance from him and everyone else."

"I'll come with?" he asked, on his tip-toes.

"I don't think that'd be a smart choice-" I declined but he interrupted me.

"No, let me come with! I could help you settle in and I promise I'm not going to do anything too stupid." he frantically argued.

"Fine.. You could come with." I gave in, and he literally jumped up and hugged me tightly.

"We move out in five days." he whispered and kissed me on the cheek.
