ch. 19: "she's back"

Luke's P.O.V

I knew Calum was going to call her anytime now, but it was my moment to show how much I needed her. I couldn't let her go now.

She rushed out the door, avoiding my touch or grab. I couldn't let her get away again. I took my phone and wallet and ran downstairs, closing the door behind me and getting into her car, luckily she hasn't left. She let out a big sigh.

"I'm coming whether you like it or not." I said, out of breath, I was willing to fight with her if she wouldn't let me go.

Unexpectedly, she backed up into the drive way and started driving to the soccer game. I was wondering if she really did like Calum, or was he just a rebound?

Hopefully.

I turned on the radio to a station playing 'Chocolate' by the 1975. She remained stiff, not saying a word.

I must've upset her. We finally got there and she shut off the car, before she could take off, I grabbed her waist and pulled her down, grabbed her face and kissed her. She pulls away and wipes a tear on her face.

"You don't know how much pain I'm feeling right now. The fact that you just kissed me while me and Calum-" she mutters, looking down at her hands.

I couldn't hold it in anymore longer.

"What Tatiana? While you and calum what? Don't you get you're just a rebound for him? Rhea was his first love, don't you get that? He's just using you to feel better about himself, to amuse himself until Rhea comes back and snatches him from you. I'm only trying to protect you." I say then walk out the door, I didn't wanna hear another word come out of her mouth.

Why couldn't she see I love her? I wanted her back so bad.

I waited for her to get out the car, when she finally did, she closes the door behind her. Her eyes were a bit red but it wasn't that noticeable.

She doesn't wait for me and she speeds up her pace, but I finally catched up to her after a few seconds since she was short. I turn my head at her, she looks back at me, looking hurt then clearing her throat and looks in front of her again. I stop us by grabbing her waist and pushing her against the wall before we could go onto the soccer field.

"I love you." I stare into her eyes, "I mean it."

She tries to look for an opportunity to escape but there wasn't any, so she looks into my eyes.

"It's complicated Luke.." She says, sighing deeply.

"Calum and you are just talking right?" I question her, hoping for a yes.

"Yeah, but-" She tries to reason with me but she's wrong.

"That means you're not officially his yet baby." I kiss her forehead, but my lips slowly lower to hers, kissing her softly.

She doesn't kiss back and she pushes me off, making me off balance. She wipes her lip on the sleeve of her long sleeve & walks onto the soccer field.

Tatiana's P.O.V

I run out to the benches just in time for the game to start. Calum sees me and he waves a big 'hello' with both of his arms, smiling with his teeth showing.

I loved it when he was like this. The coach gives a signal and Calum responds with a 'thumbs up' to me, making me giggle. I loved his playful self. He was always silly and happy in serious times.

His team huddles up in a circle, chanting and shouting at the end of the pep talk. I see Luke walk over to me, hands behind his back. He awkwardly sits 2-3 inches away from me on the bench behind me. He probably was feeling that I needed space since of what happened earlier.

3-5 minutes earlier, Calum earned a point for his team, making the home side yell and shout with happiness. I hear a familiar voice and I turn my head to the right to see Rhea jumping in her black mini skirt and white tank top with a blue flannel over it, with black combat boots and high white socks. She had a black lipstick on and her conturing was harsh. Her hair was also newly cutted blonde and she glared at me when she saw me staring at her. I scoffed and turned the other way to see Luke sitting to my left. I jump in surprise and he gives me a small wave.

"Don't worry, you're way hotter." he winks, making me scoff.

I was still mad/confused about earlier, but Luke always knew how to cheer me up.

"Oh come on you can't ignore me forever.." his voice trails off, then he gets on his knees, and his hands praying.

"Luke! Get up, what are you doing!" I laugh, making him laugh aswell. His smile was contaigous.

"See, I made you smile." he smirks, making me roll my eyes and paid attention back to the soccer game.

The team was losing 3-6, I was worried. Calum looks at me and gives me half smile, making me feel bad. He looks at the ground and jumps around a little, getting pumped up.

At the end, the team won 20-6. All the goals were mostly by Calum, Louis and Niall. They were three peas in a pod. His team lifts all three of them up but he jumps off of them and runs straight towards me, I run down to catch his hug but Rhea gets in the way, making me run into her and Calum accidentally hugs her instead. I was on the ground, and Luke helps me up. I dust off my bottoms and I see Calum smile at Rhea then goes over to me.

"Are you okay?" he laughs, probably about the fall. I shrug and faked a smile.

"Nice win!" I finally smile, and hug him.

"Thanks babe!" he smiles widely and hugs me tighter, I can feel his sweat on my neck, making me pull away & say ew.

He stops, making me turn around to see Luke on his phone, he looks up and says "Congrats." then bro-fists Calum.

"You didn't tell me you were both coming?" Calum questions me and Luke.

"Well, it was sorta last minute." Luke smiles, pulling me to his side but I move closer to Calum.

"Oh." Calum puts his hands behind his back.

"So, what're you doing after?" I break the awkward feeling.

"Well, my team's going out for a victory dinner! Come with?" Calum invites me.

"No, it's a team victory, no need for me to come." I say, obviously wanting to go.

"Oh okay," he shrugs then turns back around, "Rhea, lets go!"

My heart drops as Rhea runs over to him, he smiles down at her widely and walks away with her.

"See, baby?" Luke whispers into my ear and hugs me tightly as I cry in his chest.

Maybe Calum did use me after all...
