ch. 58: "shattered"

Calum's P.O.V

After a couple of days of staying in at the hospital, the doctor finally gave Tatiana the release note and everything was perfect. The new baby's car seat was in the back of the tourbus.

Tatiana wasn't a big fan of the car.

"Calum, are you sure that's safe?" Tati watched me lock the car-seat in place.

"Yeah, it's perfectly secure what are you talking about?" I said, trying to calm her down.

I step a few steps back to stand by her side and realize how wrong the car-seat was placed.

"I'll handle it." Ashton sighed fixing the car-seat in a second. "Fixed!"

I sarcastically clap my hands and got into the backseat, sitting by Tati who was seated next to Kei. I still couldn't believe that I was already a father..

How was I going to explain this to my mom?

I'm sure that she'd be cool about this, like what mother wouldn't want to be a grandma? And I'm already 19, it probably wouldn't be too big of a deal..

"So Ashton tell me, how'd you know how to install a carseat?" I asked, curiously.

"Well, growing up with a little brother teaches you alot." he chuckles, popping open a can of beer that was in the mini fridge, I looked over to Tatiana and she didn't seem so bothered by it.

"No wonder they call you Daddy." I murmur, making Ashton spit out the beer at my face.

"Guys, hush! She hasn't napped yet.." Tati soothed Kei and gave me a glare.

I took some paper napkins that I stuffed in one of the compartments when we had some Pander Express and wiped my face dry and parts of my shirt. Tatiana has agreed that I could visit Kei whenever I want during our tour but not too much that the fans start worrying about where I go and stuff, I already had caused too much drama by just announcing my relationship with Tatiana.

It didn't take too long to get to Tati's apartment, luckily no paparazzi's decided to follow our vehicle. I volunteered to carry Kei in her car-seat and the journey up the stairs were no joke but I managed since I had been working out to maintain stress. Her apartment was very neat, just the way I remembered it but with way more baby appliances.

"You can set her in the crib." Tati whispers to me and I nod.

I  carefully set the pink car-seat down onto the hardwood floor and unlocked the seat-belt with my fingers trembling, I was such a gentle giant whenever it came to babies. I didn't want to wake her since the crying drove me nuts and it made me feel anxious.

I carefully lifted her tiny body up from the car-seat. She shifts in my arms a bit and I froze like a statue. I expected her to cry, but she didn't. I set her down quietly and safely into the crib onto the tiniest pillow I have ever seen in my life. I expected myself to leave just like that but I couldn't. I kneel down next to her side and watch her chest move up and down, her breaths were quick and tiny. Her mouth was opened a little and some tiny baby hairs were peeking out from her beanie.

She was just magnificently beautiful.

My own child.

I felt a tear roll down my face and I quickly wipe it away. I stood up and snapped a quick picture of Kei. I finally walked out of the room and silently shut the door.

"How is she?" Tati asks me as I walked into the main room.

"She's fine." I exhale, smiling as I walked over to her to wrap my arms around her sides tightly.
