Staring at the chalk board and shifting her gaze over to her notebook, Michelle was basically ripping her hair out not understanding the methods of Synthesis, Substitution and Decomposition.

How was she going to use this in life? Currently she was wishing the she could substitute her classes with English because Chemistry was deomposing her soul.

That was a disgusting joke she made in her head.

She groaned when the teacher announced that homework was writing a report on the physics of a moving train. Maybe she'd just write a report on how the class pushed her to jump in front of a train and how fast it killed her. Goodness, how she just wanted lunch to come.

Finally the bell rang, and Michelle was up and piling her notebook and textbook together when Mrs. Hurbert (the teacher) gave her a stern look and said,

"Miss Hartford. I do not believe I gave you permisson to leave yet. The bell does not tell you when to leave, I do."

Michelle sat back down embarrassingly and waited as her teacher rambled on things that were foreign to her. Then Mrs. Hurbert said, "Now class. You are dismissed. Except for you Miss Hartford come to my desk."

She grabbed her bag and made her way while the rest of the students filed out of the room.

"I want to talk about your grades Miss Hartford," the teacher pulled out a folder and showed her all the recent C's she was getting. "Yeah about that," Michelle began to mumble on. "About this Michelle," she stared her in the eyes, "You're failing this class. And let's not forget it's an AP class! What happened you were doing so well at the beginning of the year." Michelle nodded. "Now I know I'm a teacher and am in no right to say this," Mrs. Hurbert said, "But if you have something personal keeping you from doing your best in school may I suggest you crop it?" She nodded again without saying anything. "I really need you to step up your game or else I'll have to move you to a different class and you're already halfway through the year so I don't want to do that."

"I understand. I will try to do better," Michelle nodded. "You will. I believe you!" Mrs. Hurbert said.

She began making her way out of the classroom when her teacher followed up saying, "By the way. That quarterback boyfriend of yours is a good reason to fail your class." Michelle cracked a smile and laughed. "Alright now off to lunch!" The teacher said.

"Michelle!" Anna said walking up to her. She cringed but looked up at her and waited for what she had to say. "Yes?" She asked. "You've skipped two days of practice. What's wrong?" Anna asked. "Nothing. I'm just sick that's all," she answered. "Okay then, well you need to step up your game on coming to practices or I'll have to cut you off the team," Anna said warning.

Gosh. What was with all the warnings today?

"Yeah okay," she said. "Anna it was just two practices," Melanie said from across the table. "Well I'm cheer captain now since Tifanny is gone. I'll be making the decisions, okay?" Anna snapped. Melanie just rolled her eyes in the other direction and bit into her apple. "And lay off the chips Michelle, unless you wanna lose your place as a flyer and become a base girl," Anna took her bag of chips and walked away.

Melanie popped her own bag of chips and groaned. "What did she mean by 'Now that Tiffany is gone?'" She asked, "Did I miss something during those two days?" "Besides Valentine's day?" Melanie teased. "Hey I was snowed out and sick so my plans got cancelled for everything," she explained. "Well unlike you," Melanie said, "Tiff's plans with her boyfriend didn't cancel and they were out that night." "So now she's gonna be featured on '16 and Pregger?'" She asked. "No!" Melanie exclaimed, "It's her boyfriend. They slid on ice and crashed. She broke a leg and now is out for eight weeks plus healing time. No way she can be cheer captain anymore. " "That really sucks because it's her senior year," she bit her lip. "Yeah it does," Melanie agreed, "Anyways with you! How are you and Luke? I haven't spoken to you in a while."
