JJ placed the popcorn bowl on the coffee table in front of him and threw a blanket on Michelle.

"But you're my friend right?" Michelle asked with a pouty lip. "Course I am," JJ grunted sitting back down on the couch, "I'm your best friend's brother and your 'techincally' speaking boyfriend's best friend too. So of course I've got your back." Michelle half smiled. "Hey," he said putting his arm around her, "Forget about who treats you wrong and focus on people who really matter. Haven't you heard of Taylor Swift's song 'Shake it Off?'"

Michelle almost laughed, "Of course I have!" "Or should I sing it?" JJ raised an eyebrow. "I dare you too," she laughed. He got up off of the couch and she pulled out the camera in her bag. The did the gayest* dance moves while singing along to fhe lyrics when Abby came into the living room.

"Cuz the player's gonna play play play play play. And the haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate hate, Babg I'm just gonna shake shake shake shake, shake it off. Shake it off!"

Abby's looks was mixed with horror and confusion. Michelle and JJ burst out laughing, while she stood in the doorway saying "Do I even want to know?" Michelle shook her head, "Probably not." JJ was now utterly embarrassed,  "I didn't know you were here." "I'm just surprised that you never danced in front of me before,  And suddenly your dancing in front of my friend," his sister said sarcastically. "Well that's because I know that you're judgmental and Michelle is not," JJ said. "Well there you have it," Abby nodded, "My brother officially likes you better than me." "Oops," Michelle laughed and shrugged."
"But anywho, what are you two doing here alone? You guys never hang out," Abby said plopping herself between JJ and Michelle. "Whoa Sista! Don't get me wrong! That's Luke's girl," he pointed out. Michelle softly laughed, "I'm not officially Luke's girl. And we're just friends." JJ nodded. Abby agreed.
"But what if just for once, maybe I liked you instead?" She played around in a pouty voice. "Oooh. Please no," Abby started laughing hysterically. "Come here Baby," Michelle said seductively climbing onto JJ's lap. Abby face planted into the couch laughing and JJ was laughing too. "Oh okay. I get the picture! We're TOTALLY just friends. Now get off me slut," he said playing around. Michelle dropped her jaw, "I am not!" "For climbing on me like that you were," he winked.
"Who was climbing on who?" Mrs. Conolly said walking in through the front door.
Abby mouthed the words "You're dead."
"Mom! Michelle was just climbing over me to get that dictionary off the shelf," JJ said. "Oh! Well Hun there's a foot stool," Mrs. Connolly laughed. "You're son his better on the feet," Michelle teased. "Haha! Alright well then you guys have fun doing homework," Mrs. Connolly said, "I'm going to start on dinner fot tonight."
Once she was out of hearing distance JJ said "Homework." Abby shook her head and got off the couch saying, "Yup you two have fun!" "Shut up! I do not like your brother!" She yelled, "Right JJ?" He nodded, "She's definitely gonna be the next Mrs. LaVale."

"No but seriously," Michelle got off the couch, "We should get started on homework." He groaned as she pulled him off the couch, "C'mon let's go."
"I really cannot focus," JJ said up in his treehouse doing homework with her. "Screw it! I can't either," she threw her pen. "So what do you wanna do?" He asked. "I dunno," she shrugged. Right then JJ tore a page from his history book and started folding it. "Oh my goodness!" Michelle gasped, "You can't do that! It's a textbook!" JJ brushed it away, "No one will miss the definition page." She sighed, "What are you doing?" "I'm making paper airplanes," he said. "What are you? Eight years old?" She scoffed. "No. I write my letters in them," he said quite offended. "Letters?" She asked. "Yeah. Because no one ever checks paper airplanes for letters. That way your write them and send them off flying wherever the wind blowd," JJ explained. "Sounds romantic," She said. He smiled, "Well it was. Until one day she took my paper airplanes snd actually flew away to New York." She heart sunk,  "Oh I'm sorry." He shook his head,  "No no it's fine! It's nothing. Been two years since I've talked to her." "That's a long time," Michelle said. "Not really. I still write her using these planes, one day hoping that the eco system will carry it to her," JJ laughed.
He looked down and continued writing. "Hey can I write a paper airplane?" She asked. "Get your own definitions page," JJ teased.
