"Hey so um... remember that night when you came over and yeah?" she hesisted, "Well I found out that I'm pregnant and I just wanted to let you know that I'm sort of freaking out because I'm going to be an eighteen year old mother- but yeah... Congratulations Luke- you're gonna be a daddy!"

She looked at herself in the mirror and winced, "God Abby, that was aweful." She rubbed the part where her tummy was growing, she'd gone to the OBGYN with her aunt and found that she'd been pregnant for two months. "Better not say that when Daddy gets here, huh 'lil guy?" she said to no one in particular. She sighed and tried to poof up her dress to hide the fact that she was pregnant just in case she chickened out in telling him.

But before she could think of the right words to say- downstairs the doorbell rang and Abby instantly regretted inviting him over to tell him. "Shoot," she said.

Running down the stairs she opened the door to see him standing there in his football uniform and all sweaty- "Hey sorry I didn't dress better. But you told me to come over quickly so I thoought it was an emergency so I rushed over," he panted, "So what's wrong?"

Lightening struck the sky and she said, "Hey come in." Luke wiped off his face with the hem of his shirt and took off his shoes before stepping on the carppet. "You just finished football practice?" she asked. "Yeah," he nodded sitting on the kitchen stool. "You want something to drink then?" she asked. "Yeah a cup of coffee," he answered.

"Two tablespoons of vanilla creme no sugar," they both said at the same time.

Luke looked at Abby with a knowing look. "You remember," he almost smiled. "Yeah I do," Abby laughed. He said, "Thank you," while drinking the hot cup of coffee he smiled, "You got it just right." "You're welcome," she smiled sitting in the stool across from him.

"So what did you wanna talk to me about?" he finally asked. She was hesitant but stalled. "Let's not talk about that not now," she interuppted, "How was practice?" Luke raised an eyebrow and smirked. "What?" she asked. He nodded and took another sip of his coffee. "What?" she exclaimed, "Why are you looking at me like that for?" "Abigail Connolly," Luke started, "I've known you for eighteen years of my life and not once did you ever take interest in my football career." She sighed and slumped into her stool. He leaned in to take a look at her eyes, "Now tell me what's really going on. Are you feeling sick? You need me to help you make a medicine run?" She began to get pale and his face turned serious, "No Abs- I'm serious is something up?"

She let out a shaky breath before answering.

"I'm..." she started, "Um..." "Having a fever?" Luke touched her forehead. She was wondering whether or not to lie, she really wanted to. But heck! She wa two months in, he had to know.

"I'm pregnant," she blurted.

His eyes became wide and his jaw dropped to the counter.

"What?" he said shocked.

Darn, that came out wrong- she thought.

"Uh..." she tried to regain her trace her words. "What did you just say?" he asked. "It's nothing Luke," she pulled away from his grip. "No seriously tell me," he insisted. "Luke it's fine you heard nothing," she shook her head.

"Abby!" he scolded yanking her back with an ounce of gentleness.

She groaned dreading to have to repeat herself again. This wasn't exactly the best news ever. "Abs you said you were pregnant," Luke repeated worriedly, "I heard you." She made him let go of her forearm and faced him, "Okay yeah I am pregnant. What does it have to do with you?"

Everything.

Luke swallowed everything he just heard and then when he did his calculations and figured it out he said, "It's mine isn't it? I'm the father." She bit her lip and nodded. "Oh," Luke'sexpression dropped and so did hers. "Oh?" Abby repeated, "That's it?" "Abby," he stressfully combed through his hair, "I don't know what to say..."

"Do you even want the baby?" she asked and her voice cracked as her heart shattered.

Luke scoffed and hugged Abby tightly, "Of course I do! Whatever happens between us, this kid is still ours and I had a hand in making it. What type of jerk do you think I am to have a kid and not take responsibility."

"Luke-" she started sobbing, "I'm scared." He began to cry too and said, "I'm sorry this is all my fault. I shouldn't have done what I did... I'm sorry Abs. But we'll get through this." "What is my parents going to say?" she asked through sniffles, "Or your mom? Oh! Let's not forget the fact that you have a girlfriend!" "Whoa slow down!" Luke tried to calm her down, "We've gotta skim through things. I'm sure your parents are probably going to want to rip my head off when they find out." "And my brother is going to chop you into a million pieces," Abby said with all seriousness. "That you are right about," Luke agreed, "JJ is going to kill me." "So what about Michelle?" Abby asked. Luke groaned, "As far as she goes, well she doesn't deserve to deal with this. So... I'll have to talk to her one-on-one about this okay?" "But you promise to tell her?" Abby asked. "Yes," he nodded. "What are we going to do? I'm eighteen, you're eighteen... we're both going to graduate this summer," Abby said. "I know and then we can get married- like get hitched," Luke said and started mumbling some other things.

"Hold up," Abby stopped him, "Married?" He nodded, "Yeah of course!" She shook her head, as much as she liked him she didn't want him to just marry her because of the baby, she wanted him to love her. "Luke you don't love me," Abby said it plainly. "Yeah I do," he insisted. "Not like I do though," she whispered. He sat down on the couch and thought things through.

"But if we get married, the kid is going to have a perfect home, right? Everything I always wanted as a kid," he explained thining out loud. "No it won't," Abby disagreed, "Because it's dad is going to love another girl more than it's mom." "You don't know that! Maybe in the future..."

"Luke! We have no future!" She outlashed, "Don't you see? This is it for me! I'm eighteen and pregnant- I'll never be able to go to college, I'll never have the same dignity! For goodness sake! You're not even my boyfriend for crying out loud! You're just a friend!"

"Just a friend that so happens to be related to that living person growing inside of you," he commented back. She glared at him, "Really?" "Yes!" he exclaimed, "Listen I have a say in what goes as much as you do. I ... I just don't wanna end up being like my dad- make a kid then leave it."

Everything fell silent

"I absolutely refuse to be like him," he said shaking his head and eyes reddening, "I can't and I won't. I'll find a job and I'll be responsible for the kid, I'll feed it and help raise it-" "Luke LaVale," she shook her head and smiled, "You have no clue what you're signing up for." "Maybe I don't," he shrugged, "But I'll take a huge bet that there's been other dad's out there who are eighteen and raised a kid just fine." "You'll be the first of millions," she said skeptically. He smiled then groaned, "Shoot."

"What?" she asked. "I have health problems that might get passed down to the kid," he explained, "And Michelle's literally the only person with the same blood." "Hopefully it'll have my genes then," she said. "And your nose," he teased. "Hey!" she shoved him, "I like my nose thank you very much!" "I never said I didn't like it!" he laughed.

"Don't talk to me like that," she rolled her eyes, "I'm pregnant with your child- I'm not your girlfriend." "Wow," he huffed, "We are in a very awkward situation." "Yeah we are," she said. "So should I stay around until your praents come home?" he asked. "No leave first, go shower and get dressed up," she said. "Alright," he got up off the couch, "See ya later then." "Yep," she nodded.

"Hey Abs?" he turned around before leaving the house. "Yeah?" she asked. "Any possible way I could see a pregancy test?" he asked. "Are you saying I'm lying?" she scoffed. "No!" he smiled and shook his head, "I just wanna see it myself- we might be younng bit it's still pretty cool."

Abby smiled and got him one from her drawer, "I took five tests. But here's one of them. I saw an OBGYN two weeks ago, I'm two months in." "What?! So in seven months we'll have a miniture you?" He smiled. "Seven months is in July, Luke. That's coming soon."

"That's why I'm sort of excited," he aadmitted.
