"Michelle," she heard him whisper over her. She groaned and wrapped a pillow around her head. "Michelle get up," Luke said walking his fingers from her waist to her shoulder. "Luke go away," she said tucking herself deeper into the covers. "Technically speaking this is my room your sleeping in. I had to sleep on the floor because of you," he said bouncing onto the bed himself, "Now up and shine. Or whatever they call it!" Michelle rolled over and squinted one eye towards him, "Leave me alone. I want to sleep." Luke sighed and shook his head, "Fine but you made me." He pulled off the covers and instantly the pang of cold air hit her exposed legs were her pants had ridden up.
"Luke!" She sat up quickly and hit him with the pillow. He fell backwards laughing. "I am going to pay you back!" Michelle threatened. Luke ran his fingers through her hair and said, "Well good morning to you too Beautiful. Aren't you lovely today?" "Shut up. I'm mad at you," she said under her breath. "Oh c'mon," he said and kissed her lips.
That was sure to wake her up.
"Okay I'm up," Michelle said sitting up and climbing out of bed. "Good," he said opening the door for her. "Where is everyone?" She asked when she walked into the kitchen. "They're all gone Black Friday," he said opening the cabinets and taking out pancake mix. "So it's just you and me here?" Michelle asked. "Yeah," he nodded and turned on the stove. Suddenly the thought sunk in- they were alone. Michelle shuffled in her seat at the dining room table. "Do you need help making breakfast? Because I feel bad to leave you to cook," she said getting up. Luke looked her way saying, "C'mon I'm part Italian! I know how to cook, especially if it's just eggs and pancakes." She got up anyways to help him by stirring the mix. "So what are you planning to do today?" She asked and yawned. "Anything you want to do," Luke said snaking his arms around her waist from behind her. Her heart jumped at his unwarned closeness. His chin rested on her shoulder and he said, "So what do you have in mind?" "Well..." She tried to think of an idea without the butterflies in her stomach reaching her brain, "I guess we could go to a Christmas store and get a discount on a tree for your mom." "Sounds good," he said moving away from her to flip the pancakes. "And then I guess after that it's up to you," she said.
Moving to the table Luke said, "We could go home. Y'know pack up our things and go back Maryland." She knitted her eyebrows together, "We can't just leave your dad without telling him." "Well I'm sure he'd used to it," he scoffed. Michelle dropped her fork on her plate suddenly. "What?" Luke said looking up at her. "Nothing," she looked away. "No seriously," Luke asked. "I don't know Luke... You seem to have this hatred for your dad," Michelle shrugged. Luke rolled his eyes, "I'm sure it's no surprise that I do." "Well you need to fix that," she said bluntly. He glared at her, "Don't say that. You don't know what he did." She sighed, "I don't have to. Either way Dylan is your dad and you need to respect the fact that he's a human that makes mistakes." Luke stuffed the last piece of egg in his mouth and left the table in an instant.
Michelle sat there in silence with a pit in her stomach. Was it wrong of her to say that? No, it wasn't.
Luke came back out of the room ten minutes later dressed and ready to go out. "Are we leaving now?" She asked placing her empty plate in the sink. He didn't even look at her when he said, "No I'm going out for a walk real quick."
Michelle was suddenly angry. "Are you kidding me?" she thought, "Over something simple he gets mad like that?!"
"Luke," she said firmly. "What?" He said slightly annoyed at the fact that she was being hard headed. "I'm not like your other girlfriends. I'm a girl that deserves to have respect from her boyfriend. Luke, you are going to give me that respect or else we are over. And you will not get angry and leave me by myself when you're mad because that means your irresponsible just like your dad," Michelle said crossing her arms staring straight at him. His cold green eyes looked down at the door knob he'd been holding and closed it. Luke took a deep breath and walked over to her with his head down. "I'm sorry," he said taking her by the shoulders. "Is that your apology because it sucks," she rolled her eyes. He left out a shaky breath and said, "You're right. It was stupid of me to want to leave you like that. You deserve so much more respect that I give you. And I give you permission to dump me if I ever storm out like that again." Michelle rolled her eyes, "Good enough." He smiled and leaned down to kiss her, "You know I love you right?" "Why because I forgive easily?" She sneered. "Yes," he kissed her neck too and continued, "And also because you're the best I've had." "Yeah you know it," Michelle pushed him away. "So what do you want to do now?" Luke said holding her by the waist. "Well I guess we could pack up and leave a note," She suggested with a mischievous grin. "Yeah?" He asked. "Sure why not?" She shrugged."Dylan,
We're leaving on short notice. Thanks for the food yesterday, it was good. See Ya Christmas.
- Luke.""I still can't believe you were up to do that," Luke shook his head as he was sawing the pine tree down. "Hey I can be a bad butt too," Michelle said smirked while holding the stubby thing straight. "So after this what else?" Luke asked. "Just carry this to the car and we'll talk," Michelle laughed in tiredness of holding it up. Then the tree fell down with a THUD!!
Luke winked at Michelle and said, "Mission accomplished." "You still need to strap it to the car," she said skeptically.
"It's almost done! I promise!" He said at the top of his lungs. "PULL ONTO IT HARDER!!" Michelle yelled at him. "I'm pulling it as hard as I can!" Luke shouted back. Finally the tree was tied tight to the car.
"Whew," Luke slid down the car door. "I'm glad that's over," Michelle said taking a sip of her water. "Give me some of that," a sweaty Luke said grabbing it from her. "No," she splashed it on him.Earlier:
"That was not nice of you," Luke pointed out while changing in the bathroom. "Yeah well it was part of your fault too," she said taking off her shirt and throwing it into the hamper. "You still didn't need to push me into the mud," Luke said turning on the shower.
When they had finally arrived home, Luke was unstrapping the tree off the car. Michelle decided to help him and they both got frustrated at each other. "See this is why I didn't want to tie it too tight," Luke grunted while taking his pocket knife to cut the rope. "Well if I didn't tell you to, our tree would be in Virginia," Michelle argued. "Why do you have to do that?" Luke said glaring at her. "What?" She said putting her hands on her hips. "Why do you have to fight with me and make you love you enough to stay?" Luke said putting the tree down next to car. She rolled her eyes and said, "Well sheesh! I don't know why. Why do you have to be such a pain in the butt and be so attractive at the same time?" "Its not my fault!" Luke sneered. "Then who's fault is it?" She said with an argumentive voice. Luke laughed realizing the stupidity of the fight, "Mom and Dylan's?" Michelle covered her face and started laughing. "I think the cold is making us lose our minds," Luke said kissing her. "Luke back off!" Michelle said pushing him slightly back. Thats when he slipped on ice and began to roll down a hill and landed in mud. Michelle gasped and scooted ever so slowly down the hill to go rescue him- except she ended up in the mud too."So when you're done showering, here's some of my small clothes you can wear. As far as underwear and bras go- well I think it'd be awkward to give you my underwear. And I don't have man boobs so..." He lead off into a chuckle. "It's fine," Michelle said leaning against the counter. "Okay you've got it?" He asked. Michelle couldn't help but drift her eyes to his perfect abs.
"I wish I had and like that," she thought.
"Yep I've got it," she said aloud. "Cool," he said nodding. "Now get out so I can shower!" She pushed him out and locked the door.
"Um..." Michelle said walking into his room with his clothes draping over her. "A little big?" He smirked while drying his upper body. "Just a bit big," Michelle titled her head. "Well it's the smallest sweats I've got," he shrugged. "I like how the sleeves go ten feet beyond my arms," she teased. He laughed and put his own sweat shirt on, "Well unless you want to wear my moms clothes." "No thanks," she scrunched her nose up. She plopped down in a comfy chair and he sat down next to her, "You smell good." "Luke I smell like you! I literally just used the same body wash," she laughed, "I do think it's weird how you have the same body washes in two bathrooms though." He shrugged, "You never know! Sometimes I have to take showers in a different bathroom like just now." Michelle looked down at the sleeves and played with them. When she looked up Luke was staring at her. "What?" She smiled shyly. "Nothing," he smiled and looked away.
