Michelle closed the door to her locker. A crowd of students were clearing out and she was ready too. She was awfully tired and couldn't sleep for the past two nights thinking about someone who's name may rhyme with Blue the Whale.
After dinner that one time with Luke meeting her parents she'd been wondering whether it not Luke liked her family or not... Did he even like HER? All these nights of wondering and torture of him not calling, Michelle realized that Luke was nothing more than just a project partner.
"Hey!" A perky voice called over to Michelle just before she was about to exit the school building. "Hi?" She turned around.
The most stunning teenage girl she'd ever seen stood before her with the most cheesiest smile. This girl was perfectly blonde, she was skinny and curvy in all the perfect places and her skin was absolutely perfect.
"Why can't I look like that?" Michelle asked herself.
"Hi sorry, I'm Bailey the head cheerleader," the perfect girl said. Michelle nodded, "Okay. And?" "Well," Bailey shifted uneasily, "This sounds weird and desperate and it is!" Michelle stood there wondering if this girl was mentally crazy and out to get her.
"Will you join the cheerleading squad?" Bailey asked.
Yup. She was mental alright. Michelle. Hartford? On the cheerleading team? Yeah right, she could barely do the splits, never mind flipping and landing correctly.
"What did you just ask me?" Michelle asked in surprise. Bailey sighed, "I asked if you could or wanted to join our cheerleading team." "But why me?" She asked. "Because we need more girls, our best girl just got pregnant (shocker!) and can't do all the flips and whatever anymore. Some girls at PE said you were really good in gym class," Bailey explained, "I know it's just an option I just hope you'll consider it though."
Michelle decided that Bailey was desperate in finding more girls for the squad, so she shrugged, "Sure. Why not?"
"Oh thank you! Thank you!" Bailey pulled Michelle in a hug.
"Ew you're doing cheerleading?" Cassidy asked. "Hey watch it lady! I'm in the cheerleading team," Tiffany said throwing a fry at her. "But what's wrong with the squad?" Michelle asked. "Nothing," Melanie said, "Just that most of the girls there are snobby or too excited about everything."
Tiffany rolled her eyes, "Don't pay attention to them. They have no clue what they're saying." "Um... I was in cheerleading for three years Hun," Melanie sneered, "One word. AWEFUL."
Tiffany threw a fry at Melanie too and said, "Don't worry you'll love it!"
"So cheerleading huh?" Luke asked with a smirk as Michelle wrote down the report. "Ok! What is everyone's problem with cheerleading?" Michelle snapped. "Nothing! The girls are nice and sweet- most of the times. It's just some girls there are rude y'know? You don't seem like that type. I just don't want you to have a rep as 'one of those girls,'" Luke said plainly.
Michelle was actually pretty flattered that he thought she was different.
"Well thank you for your concern," Michelle said chewing the eraser on HIS pencil that she was writing with. "Yeah no problem," Luke waved away and then said, "Are you chewing my pencil?" "Yes," Michelle said back embarrassed. "I have to do something about you," Luke said. "Like what?" Michelle said groaning.
"Well I suppose we could change up your clothes," Luke pointed all over her body. "Okay and?" Michelle pressed. "Not anything else, but each ya a few manners," Luke teased. "Gee thanks," Michelle said turning away from Luke. "Like for instance quit chewing my pencil!" Luke snatched it away from her. "I'm sorry it's bad habits," Michelle threw her hands in the air. Luke grabbed another pencil from his desk and handed it to her.
