Liam's POV

~

"I don't know if I can do this, Reece." I mutter, pacing back and forth in front of my locker.

Reece snorts, clearly amused as he looks down at his phone, "A little too late now, man. The roses are in her locker and the girls are on their way there."

My head shoots up to look at him, "Now?"

He nods, "Sunshine just texted me."

I pause for a second, smirking, "You're so gone, dude."

He furrows his brows, "What?"

I shake my head, focusing back on the problem at hand. "Nothing. I can do this. It's just Annie."

"Exactly. Everyone knows the two of you are already in love with each other. I don't know why you're so worried." Reece shrugs before his face turns serious, "But hurt her and I'll punch you in your díck."

I roll my eyes, "I would never hurt her, you know that."

He reluctantly nods, "Yeah, I know. Come on, we don't wanna keep her waiting."

We walk through the school halls while I try not to freak out. This is the first time I'm asking Anna out in any way, shape, or form. I am positively shítting myself. For about a year now, there have been little signs that she has feelings for me and I've tried to subtly let her know as well. But asking her to Homecoming is a big step for us.

Soon enough, Reece and I reach Anna's locker where she is already standing. We arrive just in time to see her open the locker as a whole bunch of pink roses fall to ground. She gasps softly and I start walking towards her, twirling the singular rose I have in my hand out of nervousness. Anna turns to Layla who is now standing next to Reece with a grin. "What-"

"Annie," I cut her off gently, walking towards her hesitantly. She quickly spins around to face me, eyes wide. I smile nervously and clear my throat, holding the singular rose out to her.

She takes it from me with the most adorable and confused smile. "What's all this?"

I clear my throat again, working up as much courage as physically possible to ask her the question. Shifting from foot to foot, I finally blurt out, "I, uh- Will you go to Homecoming with me?" I wince after I've spoken, waiting for her rejection.

She's going to say no, isn't she? This was a bad idea.

"I- Yes!" She quickly nods, a small giggle escaping her as her cheeks turn red.

My mouth falls open slightly in shock. "Really?"

Anna giggles again, walking towards me with her arms open now, "Of course, come here, you big goofball."

A giddy smile overtakes my faces as I stumble forward to loop my arms around her waist and lift her off the ground. Bubbling laughter meets my ears as she clings onto me with her arms around my neck.

Anna Carter is the best thing that's ever fúcking happened to me.

~

I can't keep my eyes off her. It's physically impossible. It's not even because she's wearing a dress and she has her hair done all pretty – although it does make her look exceptionally gorgeous. It's because I can't fúcking believe I'm here with her right now.
