Max's POV
~
I walk into the changing rooms and open my locker, starting to change into my basketball uniform. Practice is one of my favourite times of the week. And not just because I get to stare at Bella while the girl's team is practicing on the court next to us.
Well, that might be mostly why.
Most of the team is already in here changing as well, talking loudly about video games and girls and classes. I don't think any of their conversations ever switch from one of those three topics. At the moment, they are talking about girls.
"But did you see how good Veronica's áss looked in those jeans today?" Jake shakes his head as though he can't believe it and I roll my eyes.
"She walked past me in History class, and I got an eyeful of it. I wasn't complaining." Ryan agrees grinning.
"Yo, but did you guys see Bella's áss in that grey skirt?" Matt's words make me stop just as I'm about to pull my shirt on over my head.
Is he talking about my Bella? I turn my head to look at him, but he is facing the other direction. Jake and Ryan both stop, looking towards me with wide eyes as I glare holes into the back of Matt's head. But he keeps going.
"Her áss looked so dámn good. The things I'd do to her, man. And her waist is like the perfect amount of skinny with enough fat to grab onto when you-" He stops abruptly when I slam him back into his locker, not realising I've come up behind him. He stares up at me with wide eyes.
"What the hell did you just say?" I glare down at him, already getting riled up as I feel my heart start to race. He did not just talk about her that way.
"No, no, no, man. You- You've got it all wrong, I-"
"No, go ahead, please continue. I'd just love to know what else you have to say about her." I raise an eyebrow at him, challengingly.
Suddenly he seems to gain confidence, puffing out his chest as his eyes narrow, "Well why should you get to keep her all to yourself? Just because you've never made a move, doesn't mean-" I pull my fist back and bring it down hard on his jaw. His head snaps to the side before I lift him up by the collar of his shirt, slamming him back into the locker.
"Bella is not an object. You don't get to talk about her like she's a piece of meat. I'd suggest you leave her the hell alone before I beat the cráp out of you properly next time," I let him drop back to his feet, taking a couple steps back. I look around the changing room to see everyone frozen, staring at me with wide eyes. "That goes for the rest of you as well." I'm fuming. I need to leave.
I walk back over to my things and shove everything but my shirt into my locker. I have already changed into my shorts for practice, so I storm out of the locker room holding my shirt. I look out to the courts and try to look for Bella. She isn't there yet. Walking over to the girl's changing room, I call out through the open door, around the corner. "Bella!"
After a second, I hear her reply, "Max!?"
"I need you, Angel!" I call out, not caring how desperate I probably sound as I reach up and run my fingers through my hair. Those guys get me so mad. Of course Bella has to be so dámn gorgeous.
Not two seconds later, Bella jogs out of the changing room only wearing her sports shorts and a sports bra, eyes wide as she looks around frantically. Almost immediately, her eyes connect to mine. It's like with one look, she can tell how I'm feeling, and she storms over to me. I let out a small sigh at just the sight of her, sitting down on the bench against the wall as she stops in front of me.
