Macy's POV
~
A knock on the front door of the apartment causes my head to shoot up. A grin stretches across my face and before anyone can stop me, I rush towards the front door. I open it quickly and face the man behind it.
The first words that leave his mouth are, "Holy fúck."
"Hello to you too." I deadpan, raising an eyebrow and crossing my arms over my chest. Sophie clearly forgot to mention to this guy that she has an identical twin. Of course.
"Uh, sorry, I just- was not expecting that." He clears his throat and reaches a hand up to rub the back of his neck sheepishly.
"Of course Sophie didn't tell you she has a twin. It's like she forgets I exist sometimes." I roll my eyes, a small smile slipping onto my lips as I stick a hand out for him to shake. "I'm Macy. Older than Sophie by three minutes and way cooler than her."
"Leave the guy alone, chica." A familiar voice comes from behind me before I feel an arm curl around my waist. Her free arm stretches forward so that she can shake his hand as well. "I'm Raine, Macy's fiancée." He shakes her hand as well before wincing when she tightens her grip. The smile never leaves her face. "Hurt that goofball and you're a dead man. Got it?"
He nods hurriedly, bringing his hand back to his body when she finally releases it. He looks between the two of us with wide eyes. "It's nice to meet you both."
"Please don't tell me you're terrorising him already." Sophie's voice comes from behind us and the guy noticeably sags with relief. I didn't think we were that scary. "Go back to your own apartment now, you pests."
I turn to my sister with narrowed eyes, "I think you mean 'thank you so much for dog-sitting my little devil-spawn while I fúck one of my patients owners'."
Sophie glares at me as she approaches. "Fúck off."
"Fine, fine. We're leaving." I roll my eyes and step past Sophie's date with Raine behind me.
Sophie offers the guy a bright smile, holding her dog in her arms. "Sorry about them. I promise they're leaving."
"It's fine. They're just protective over you – I get it." He shrugs with a smile. I watch him carefully as he watches her. The look in his eyes is comforting. He clearly admires her a lot. It's obvious he likes her. I just hope he respects her.
"This is Rufus by the way," Sophie looks down at the dog in her arms whose tail is wagging so fast I think it's about to fly off.
"Hi, little guy." He reaches out to pat his head and he immediately starts licking his hand all over, his body squirming in Sophie's arms in an attempt to escape. He chuckles. "He's so cute."
"He's absolutely not." I speak up and Sophie gives me a loaded stare. With a sigh, I walk forward and take the dog from my sister. "Fine. We're going. Have fun. Use protection." Then I start walking over to the apartment across the hall with Raine just behind me. We head inside, shutting the door behind us.
Now that they can't see us, Raine and I share a couple grins. "They totally like each other." I say excitedly, jumping up and down slightly.
She nods her agreement. "Absolutely. Did you see the way he was looking at her?"
"It's finally happening!" I giggle, placing Rufus down on the ground before grabbing Raine's hands and tugging her into me. She falls into my arms easily, reaching a hand up to cup the back of my head. "I've waited our whole lives for the two of us to both be happy. I got you so easily and I just really want that for my sister."
