Macy's POV

"Red or yellow?"

"Red, obviously."

"But yellow is good too."

"Red is superior."

"Do you have something against yellow bell peppers?"

"No, I just like red bell peppers better."

"Fine. Red it is." I roll my eyes, placing two red peppers into the shopping basket I'm carrying.

"You know, you can buy the yellow if you want. You're eating them, not me." Raine points out, eyebrows raised in question.

I shrug, continuing to walk through the vegetable aisle. "I know, but you said you're free Fridays so you'll be at mine for dinner on Friday and this is for what I'm planning to cook that night."

Raine pauses and looks at me with a little grin. "You're too fúcking cute, you know that?"

I roll my eyes and blush, turning away so that I don't have to reply. I'm not great at taking compliments. "Maybe I should get some apples."

"Sure. But before we get into an argument about whether green apples or red apples are better, can I have a kiss?" Raine asks and I turn to find her smirking. She has not right to look so hot while doing so.

I lean forwards without hesitation and give her a quick kiss before saying, "Red is obviously better."

She smiles. "Finally, something we can agree on."

We continue on with the rest of the grocery shopping, grabbing everything on my list. Raine heads off after a while to get some milk while I pick out some meat for meals for the rest of the week.

"Macy?" I turn around at the sound of my name being said by an all too familiar voice.

"Gavin?" My eyes widen when I see him, my mouth falling open a little from shock. It's been about a month now since Gavin and I mutually decided to break up, and I haven't seen him at all in that time.

He smiles hesitantly, taking a little step forward. "Hey. How have you been?"

I smile back at him. It's good to see him again. After spending all those years together, it's been weird not seeing him almost every day. I do miss him, admittedly, but not as a boyfriend. Before that, he was a good friend to me and I've missed not having him around. "I've been really good, actually. How are you?"

"Great, yeah. Just working on myself for a bit. It's been a while since I've been on my own, you know?" He shrugs.

"I know exactly what you mean. I'm glad you're doing good. It's been weird not talking to you these past few weeks."

"Yeah, it was hard getting used to not talking with you every day." He pauses, looking into my eyes, "You're an amazing girl, Macy. I'm sorry things didn't work out between us, but I'm glad we spent that time together. You've always been one of my best friends."

"I feel the same way. I think we were always a little better at being friends than being in a relationship. Breaking up has worked out better for the both of us." I smile softly at him. It really is so good to see his face again.

"Definitely. You figured out the whole bi thing yet?" He asks curiously.

"I think I have, yeah. There's actually someone I think you'll want to meet..." I trail off and look behind me in the direction Raine headed off to a few minutes ago. I smile when I spot her walking back to me. She realises who I'm talking with immediately and her eyes widen before darting to me. I give her a little smile of reassurance as she walks back to my side. "Raine, this is Gavin, my ex-boyfriend. Gavin, this is Raine. My girlfriend."
